After the first activation, SecuROM requires that [Mass Effect PC] re-check with the server within ten days (in case the CD Key has become public/warez'd and gets banned)," said French in a post on the BioWare forums.

Sad i had high hopes for both of these especially spore since we already have ME on the 360 (tho it would b a hell of a lot better on a pc)
No way am i supporting this kind of drm crap.
Better off waiting for the crack since it will be hassle free.

And yet they wonder why piracy's such a big hitter, online periodic validation my ass.

That arent saying too less about how much money EA spitted into this project. : -)

@ at disagree?

This sucks for people like my friend who doesn't have the internet, unless he drags it to his dad's office and plugs it in there. Really sad :<

I'd just love to see somebody sell me a chair that I could only sit in for a few years, until the seller got tired of weekly double-checking in my bedroom to make sure that I wasn't pirating it by letting someone else sit in the chair with me.

Running those servers to re-authenticate millions of copies every 10 days isn't free. As somebody who is still playing their copy of classics like Myth and Fallout over ten years after their release, this policy sounds like my legal copies will be completely nonfunctional once Bioware stops pumping money into keeping those servers alive for a game that stopped making them new sales years ago....

Fcuk this all the Steam games get cracked so this will not be a problem either

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing18d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9218d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit18d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing18d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9218d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
