"Among my ever-changing taste in gaming genres, the shooter has always been one of my favorites. From the arena shooter like Quake III to the action-adventure-filled shoes of Nathan Drake in Uncharted, it’s hard for me to find one I don’t like. When Scourge: Outbreak was thrust upon the shooting community, promising co-op, online multiplayer and a story-filled campaign, many, including myself, were highly intrigued. Despite the promises and my excitement, I had a bit of doubt. Instead of pondering on that doubt, I decided to jump in with my fingers crossed in hope of surprises."

Scourge: Outbreak debuted on Xbox 360 a decade ago and is still playable on modern consoles, but is it worth your time?

"Imitation is the best form of flattery, but only when done right, and Scourge: Outbreak fails at doing so. It tries so hard to look similar to triple-A series giants like Gears of War, Crysis, and Mass Effect, but the resemblance is superficial at best. There's not a single aspect left unflawed, yet the worst thing about this game is how extremely average it is. Furthermore, this is actually supposed to be a vastly superior, upgraded version of The Scourge Project, a statement that raises the inevitable question of just how much worse was the original, and is this PS3 version any better than the terrible PC iteration?"
