Its funny but you almost get the feeling the reviewer hates himself for liking a hyped up PS3 game. There's so many people this gen that just want to be on the "I'm not THAT impressed" bandwagon, they deserve to miss good stuff. He fully admits its going to be top tier but cant help but complain it doesn't create enough new boxes to tick because of one crude remark by a grunt. Sad.

Now if this game does even a little bit more than is expected, then it achieved a lot in my book. This game has so many expectations it is ridiculous. I am sure that it will be an amazingly fun game.

IGN, the same website that gave GTA IV a 10 for graphics. They've already lost most of their credibility.

This seems so typical of the gaming media in general. Here you have what could really be one of the best looking games to date (With 9 months left till release time) with respect to graphics and the criticism is.....not really innovative. I'm really getting sick of this. Lets face it, innovation is only a facet of what makes a game great. why is everyone focusing on that one piece of the puzzle of late? I mean, yeah, obviously a rehash of the same old same old time and again isn't ideal, but can we give these guys a break here? Killzone 2 has the look of a masterpiece in my opinion.

This isn't what I was expecting.I don't know what to say.Im concerned the final build won't be as expected,but it will still sell nonetheless because of all the hype.

It does remind me of COD4 with that gun they were using.

Then again, games do not win GOTY on graphics alone, I think everyone is looking forward to the gameplay. How will that be? I mean it is still a shooter, what else will separate it from others? Don't for a second think reviewers will give the game a 10 based on graphics alone. Hopefully the game shapes up and is one of the better FPS's out there in 2009.

Ok, so...what separated CoD4 from other shooters? I mean it was the same point and shoot of all the other call of duties. Basically all they did was make it modern and add more focus on online play. Nothing was out of the ordinary. It was the same thing...plus online play. And guess what..Cod4 is still fun as hell.

KZ2 got the boxes checked good, that means it does what every other good FPS does...with an added cover system,etc. This game already did what it needed to do, now it needs to prove itself in online play. It already proved that it can offer the same fun experience that we've been getting from FPSs.

considring this game is coming out next year that was some amzing footage,the final product should be like what we saw in the cgi footage, personaly i think they will achive it but if they dont the will come really close to it, because what i saw today looks almost like a finished game with sweet graphics and the gameplay movemnt of the player was solid apart from the a.i.....cod4 set a trend in fps just how god of war set a trend in advunture games, and how gears of war brought back the cover system, games get ideas from each other...e.g uncharnted cover system (gears of war) vikings(god of war) and so on, so this guy has nothing on this game, wait till the final product before u start picking out the problems, as they said this is work in progess dont get me wrong i am not saying that the game will be perfect , all i am saying it is too early to start previwing a game that is coming out next year.

I'm buying this without even looking at the reviews, but it's still pretty sad and disappointing reading such previews. They are putting so much effort,time, and money in this game.

Well actually people are taking this out of context. We all are expecting this game to be more than just an eye candy, with all the truck load of fps games in the market, a game really needs something innovative to stand out of the crowd. I would buy killzone2 on day1, but I am still worried that this game won't be as innovative as I was hoping it to be, then again we haven't seen much and there is still a long way to go.

This game will be totally awesome, and after seeing those gameplay videos, I can say that this game is one of the most beautiful games I have seen.

All jokes aside, his complaints were that the game didn't innovate enough for him, which I find incredibly hypocritical. He just commented about the cover system being new on the first page :|. Not to mention that loads of games this gen aren't innovative, just look at Uncharted, COD4, etc. These games are just a polished experience, nothing groundbreaking. Did they get high scores and critical acclaim? Hell yeah. Why ream KZ2 for it if you aren't going to criticize others?

Going thru some comments and the preview, its a pity that one cannot be impressed any more, it seems. I am, with what I saw. I think its pretty impressive what they (GG) pulled of. But, well, it always has to be more, I guess...

If this game was on the 360 the nerdy website cracka's would be all over the internet praising it...

I love cod4 but the single player campaigne is pretty much the same crap from all the other cod games.. BORING.. Except the sniper stage which was different and fun. I still havent beat the single player campaigne and probably wont.. Its just not fun and you really dont get into the story. COD4 is only good for playing online. Killzone should have a way better story and from what i can see its one of the best looking fps games i have seen on a console so far.. The only thing anyone should be worried about is the multi player aspect of the game which we havent got any info on yet

Dam! That's yet another cross-out from my list of games that might justify the PS3. The remaining game on the list, MGS4, had better live up to the hype.

I own an Xbox. I like my Xbox. This is no secret. I think the problem with Sony fanboys is that you expect every single exclusive for the PS3 to be the second coming or something.

Im sure this game is going to be good. It looks great. But dont put all your eggs in one basket. Its silly to assume any one game will be the answer to all your gaming wishes, cause if it doesnt work out then youre standing their looking foolish.

As a 360 fan there are a few games coming out that I am looking forward to, but across all systems I dont see any one game, at least for a while that will have Halo/GTA hype.

IMO opinion gameplay trumps graphics. KZ2 may be pretty, but its the gameplay that really matters. Biggest reason why I wasnt as thrilled as most people with Gears.

Just as I predicted Killzone 2 is shaping up to be yet another mediocre entry into a mediocre series from a mediocre dev studio. Hopefully Sony has learned their lesson not to lie and mislead the public (and the fandroids who actually believed that CG was real) as they have wasted an unbelievable amount of money on a garbage game.

What's even more worrying is the Resistance 2 vids that have been leaked on the net, honestly the game looks graphically as bad as the first Resistance and all the bugs and glitches in the game is a cause for concern, especially since its suppose to release this year, coming from a team like Insomniac this is very disappointing

At least we all know that Gears of War 2 will be a AAA title and another blockbuster hit, looks like the Xbox 360 delivers again while the PS3 only serves up broken dreams and promises.

With all these delays hitting the Delaystation 3, Sony's 2008 lineup has become mediocre, unimpressive and pales in comparison to the quality and breadth of the Xbox 360s 2008 exclusive lineup.

I know that this year i'll be recommending to everyone to Jump In, 2008 is the year of the Xbox 360

I still can't believe I was watching real-time footage. It looks even better than the CG trailer from E3 2005.

Because from what i've seen today - Motostorm 2, Haze, resis2, kz2 only kz2 look good. Kz2 have very good special effects what makes picture cinema-like. btw textures still looks bad, because of only 256mb of video memory on ps3.

PS3 will never be better graphicaly because of old gen GFX card compared to 360.

Can't wait to see Alan Wake and GEars of war 2 using full potential of 360 graphics card. There is new wave of games coming to PC/XBOX while PS3 will strugle because of it's Nvidia 7900 series GFX card with only 256mb of video ram.

Sony really does need another mainline shooter franchise. They pretty much gave up after the PS3 generation, and I'm really surprised they haven't tried at another high-profile, singleplayer-centric shooter; even if it weren't Killzone or Resistance.

I miss Killzone while I can see why they still do Horizon has some really good things but I do think that Horizon is overrated imo.

Or how about studios focus on projects that they feel passionate about, and not be forced to make something they have little interest in. It shows in the final product.

It’s still got potential for the modern era. The DNA is all there. The install base is there. The interest is there. The time is now.

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Killzone game after Killzone 2 play style would be nice

Motorstorm would be epic with the visual upgrade, maybe this game would be a harder sell with the genre being not as popular nowadays..

Sorry bud, but the PS3 generation was amazing and featured the greatest console comeback in history.

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

The PS3 was such a glorious console. The UI, the games, the free online...just incredible.

I would pay good money for a Warhawk remake. Socom too. The last Socom game just didn’t do it justice. Folklore could use a remaster or remake as well.
Several other titles I would like to remade with the amount of visual fidelity the current gen has over the past consoles it could help articulate the games that we’ve loved growing up. I would love even some ps2 titles to remade.. Dark Cloud from ps2, Legacy of Kain series but don’t know what will come of it sense it was bought by Embracer group and all there layoffs.

This strategy is exactly what helped ruin Xbox. Sony more than Microsoft know when to let a franchise go and that is important to keep things fresh. The old games are there if you want to play them.

Resistance series and Killzone 2 & 3 remasters/remakes. Make it happen. They will print money.

FF13 is top of this list for me. No matter your opinion on it, it being the only numbered offline FF out of all 16 not to be on new consoles is odd. GTA IV would be great too

The only reason my PS3 is still connected is because of the Resistance, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm games that I still love to play. I am for remaking or remastering them.

I was never a huge fan of Killzone, but thoroughly enjoy Horizon. Guerrilla are superb developer and easily up there with the best of the best.

Need a killzone 2 remake from the ground up.

Great studio, loved the Killzone series, I wish they would do a remake of the first three games. Horizon is a real step up and truly put Guerrilla Games on the map.

Too bad I never got a chance to play Shellshock: Nam’67 would have loved to try that game out back in the days to see what were their beginnings.

It would fantastic to see what they could do in Killzone after the lessons learned through Horizon.

Or heck, give us even a short linear FPS from the people who designed Cauldron THETA in the Burning Shores expansion. Even just flying into it (after gliding around and finding its opening amongst the lava and Sunwings perched around it, with other bigger machines just along the path toward it) was an incredible experience.

Forbidden West is awesome, It’s pretty damn big compared to Zero Dawn and it takes a little while to get your skills up and get the equipment you need to fully explore the game (not going to spoil it) but once you do those things and start fighting the big ass machines it really is amazing. Some cool side quests to where you hold the fate of peoples lives by your choice and the cauldrons look amazing. Lots of skills , combos, special moves and add ons for your weapons so you can approach fights many ways. Looking forward to the name game but I wonder how/if Silas will be a part of it or not ? Sad he’s gone.

I'm hyped for whenever Horizon 3 releases but Killzone 1 needs a remake BAD and 2 & 3 need remasters. Criminal those games are stuck on PS3.
