Since it's difficult to compare the specs of the PS3 and Xbox 360 directly, multiplatform games like GTA IV are commonly used to gauge the relative strengths of the two systems. The Exploding Barrel has spent a week with both versions of Rockstar's amazing new sandbox title, and has noticed a handful of graphical differences that may be of interest to discerning shoppers who want to know which version to buy… or fanboys who simply crave fodder for bashing rival hardware.
The article focuses on differences between how the Xbox 360 and PS3 handle aliasing, effects, textures, load times, and saturation.

GTA IV turned GTA into a more grounded franchise where storytelling and immersion became just as engrossing as wrecking up open-world sandboxes.

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.
2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.

As we have all been graced by the release of Grand Theft Auto 6's trailer, we're ranking the best and worst GTA trailers to date.

These updates on N4G are going to ruin whats rest of this site. Unfortunate since I was one of the first members.. The site shows unsecure when i login as well.
when do the comparisons end?!?!? seriously, it doesn't matter...
The differences are pretty huge. The Xbox 360 has an pretty big edge in how clean and crips it looks. Everything is a bit more defined in the 360 version
That's about it for 360, the PS3's warmer blurry colors make the game seem grittier, it looks the PS3 version is also shot from up closer, it feels closer to the action somehow. The controller feels more physical on the PS3, you can put your whole hand around the controller because it's smaller and you can squeeze the triggers, the harder you squeeze the faster you go. for the 360 you just press and the triggers give right away.
It just overall feels like the 360 one is nice and neat but doesn't have any balls.
That's my honest opinion after playing both versions head to head for days.
the trash can is further on the ps3, dosent that make a differenc? none of these comparisons are fair. the sky has more clouds on the ps3 version their for, a less bluer sky (duh). just stop with these comparisons, your not convincing anyone. im playing right now, the sky looks the same, i dont even have an hdtv and i can see the grates on the trash can.
So these guys are saying the 360 has 'more' color now...goes against what pretty much every video and every review says...but whatever...

its long overdue to stop questioning what the PS3 is capable of...when the 360 counters a gameplay vid like this, let me know...
yea im actually further away then they are and i can see both sides of the greated trash can with out an hdtv. im not lieing see for your self that its bull sh*t. i haven played it on 360 so ill have to see for my self then, then ill decide b/c my eyes dont lie.
