Fallout 4 Probably Won’t Release in 2014

PlayStationing writes: "Let me preface this by saying that I’m a huge fan of Bethesda and the Fallout games that released last generation, despite them being a bit of a buggy mess. So it’s safe to say that I am really looking forward to the release of Fallout 4, which everyone appears to think will be in 2014, but here’s why it probably won’t (and it’s got nothing to with that Christmas Card which doesn’t have any Fallout images, even though there is a barbed wire “4″ on the left side of the safe!)."

I choose to believe in Fallout 4 2014. You just have to wish hard enough.

gaffyh4570d ago

I hope that works, it's been too long for this game already :(

thorstein4570d ago

yeah, 4/4/14 would be a great date.

dreamoner4569d ago

4/4/14 would be a great announcement date at best, and with a fall release it could be great.

Crazay4569d ago

HAH! If only that were the case man. Sadly, I tend to agree with the writer here. I don't think it's happening in 2014.

NukaCola4569d ago (Edited 4569d ago )

If this game is hindered or delayed because of Elder Scrolls Online, I'm going to be very upset at Bethesda.

joab7774569d ago

No way! They announced Skyrim well before. Will b going up against games like the Witcher 3 & Dragon Age. Mostly though b/c they may want to give ESO some spotlight. I know it may b a different crowd but I think they r hoping to draw in rpg fans too...not just mmo enthusiasts. I just think we would have heard about it by now. It will b interesting though. If its next gen only, Bethesda will want a bigger install base...2015 fall probably.

fattyuk4569d ago

Great grammar sir.

I do hope fallout 4 is released in 2014 or at least 2015, I need this game.

gaffyh4570d ago

If it releases in 2014, it would mean it had been 6 years since the last numbered Fallout. Way too long already IMO, they should be able to get one out every 4 years and rotate between Elder Scrolls and Fallout.

Hitman07694570d ago

They have too much ego pride butt hurt about Elder Scrolls being less popular than Fallout in the vocal crowd...

Hitman07694570d ago

It doesn't exist still so yeah , I'm pretty sure you're right. Pointless article much?

Heeey! I wanted to throw the first one!

"It doesn't exist still so yeah"

It probably exists... on some level, but it isn't confirmed. There is a huge difference between the two, though I don't see why anyone would assume an unannounced game will release next year.

Godmars2904569d ago

A game not yet officially announced wont likely come out the year it Might be announced.

How is this a surprise?

Worse is that all the buggy games which we have been seeing, the community only wants to hear and receive a game as known for bugs as its popularity announced and released ASAP. If not sooner.

Gamers are pathetic.

IronFist4569d ago

New Vegas was announced and released within the same year. Feb announcement, Oct release date. Or something, which invalidates your point completely.

Plus F4 won't be as buggy cuz new consoles similarity to PC.

Godmars2904569d ago

Wasn't Vegas a different team using the same assets, which that game turning out to be even more buggier than the original?

Nevermind that COD4 is on the new consoles and in some versions is considered to be unplayable. Blows your point right out of the water.

admiralvic4569d ago

Nintendo also announced the Mario and Luigi 3DS XL bundle the day the bundle actually released. Companies do stupid stuff all the time, but Godmars290's point remains. It's silly to speculate when an unannounced game will release as we know next to nothing.

Simco8764569d ago

I'm excited about another Fallout.

They need to look at Morrowind and see what the progression should have been from there instead of the regression we got with the next 2 games. They weren’t horrible games but they could have been so much more.

-Foxtrot233d ago

Fallout 4 just felt too streamlined and accessible to me, the perk system was not as fun as it was in Fallout 3, not saying Fallout 3 didn't have issues but 4 just felt like a complete step back.

mastershredder233d ago

So the part where you just sold the same games for the last 10 years while you focused on 76 and merch, was not a reset from the "creative" aspect eh? How very Todd of you.

lukasmain233d ago

I bought Fallout 4 (I loved Fallout 3) at launch and I couldn't bring myself to finish it or even get close to finishing it. It was soooo damned boring and bland. I played on a very hard difficulty and I had hundreds of stimpaks. One of the only games I've played for a while and not ended up finishing it. I hated it. Just flat out hated it.
