I never knew they had a set date before this announcement. So therefore its not delayed as some might want to think. Samething happened with a few other games. The devs say "were aiming for fall or winter" doesnt mean its an exact date. So for those who are hating just play your box and be happy. No need to complain.

HAHAHA february sounds like a perfect date for more delays. It happens all the time; if a game is scheduled to release before christmas, they will usually try their hardest to release it, no matter how unfinished it is. If a game is put to Q1 it often slips past because there's not really much loss in releasing it a couple of months late. Maybe killzone can make it out before home though LOL

I can see that if Killzone 2 is _not_ THE most graphically impressive game we've ever seen when it comes out, it is going to be ridiculed. Hence the delays I guess ;)

Finally, a release date. Feb aint to bad for me, its a little longer than I wanted to wait, but still there are already plenty of games in Q4 to keep me going.

Dropping KZ2 and FF in the first quarter would be the perfect way to kick off 2009.

That a pretty ridiculous dev time like we saw the first trailer in 2005 and I'm assuming there was creative development before that so I'd imagine KZ2 has been in development for 5 years now. So the question is who will reign supreme KZ2, R2 or GeOW2. Considering the latter two have only been in development max 2 years KZ2 better freaking blow me away.

Well, look on the good side...for me at least...whenever PS3 fans keep posting that same list of killer-aps, I'll have one less title to read. It'll be almost like something new! A new list! Yay.

it is a sad thing but considering resistance 2 is coming out in November of this year this wont hurt as much but disappointing however, oh well there is still littlbigplanet, motorstorm 2, tekken 6, haze, mgs4, wipeout hd, socom:confrontation, valkyria, the agency and a few others as well,

now that makes 09 look even better in my opinion...getaway 3, god of war 3, wardevil, granturismo 5, final fantasy 13, star ocean 4, heavenly sword 2, uncharted 2 im sure of it, ico 3, twisted metal ps3, syphon filter ps3, coded arms assault, 8 days, a few others as well.

besides all of the other good games are well...multi-platform i mean re 5 cod 5 and so on.

oh and home you all might as well for get about it, and just pressure sony to give us in-game communications instead. im growing sick and tire of waiting or these basic functions.

i mean every ps3 should be to...have the following features.

in game messaging, in-game friend invites, voice message, video message, message to all, write a single message and than forward it to all your friends, cross chat- if you know what this is than you know you want it as bad as i do, chat wit one another while playing or doing different things. the trophy system heck i love uncharted s's rewards system i think that should be sony's approach for this trophy thing. a sound whenever you get a message, a last logged in display wouldn't hurt either, and maybe some time and weather when online and via zip code which you use to create your account and finally a headset with every damn console com'on sony.

To many games coming this year any ways. Also Feb is my B-Day month. Feb 2009 Killzone 2, March 2009 God of War 3, FFXIII 2009? Well it looks like 2008 the year of the Playstation 3, and 2009 the year of the Playstation 3.

For those who claim that game was never delayed you're either bias or working from memory loss. During it's official unveiling last year at E3, Phil Harrison on the show floor afterwards gave interviews to the press stating that they expect it to release sometime "early 2008", and it was later revealed that a public beta would happen before that. Other employees of Sony reiterated the same thing till news of the game dried up fast within 2 months of that.

All news of the expected Beta was non existent fuelling claims the game would be held back till the Summer. A few months ago Scott Steinberg said the game is making it in 2008, but now it's held back to Feb 2009. This game has been in development since late 2003, over 5 years now and the best excuse people can come up with is that Sony dont want it to interefere with titles like Resistance 2 or Socom. Excuse me, but Socom has nothing on KillZone 2 which should be even more ahead of that game in development, why not delay Socom - make that game even better, add more to it, and continue to work at pace with KZ2?

LittleBigPlanet was revealed at GDC07, a year ago, and was touted by Harrison on the stage to be available to the public at fall of 2007. It never came but we still had media of LBP. We were told a Public Beta would come first and no news on that, but we still expected something for this summer. Now it's been delayed further to October - in the same language, as KillZone 2 was "scheduled" to release.

Home for this fall, yet Kaz says he wont release it till he's happy with it. Isn't that a contradiction? He wont release it because he doesnt want the industry to laugh at its current state, but I already can hear Microsoft's giggling from here. They were spot in saying that a prospect like Home, even for a software company like Microsoft, was extremely difficult to create for a gaming community. But no one listened, and we ate Sony's promises yet here we are still - without Home, without even XMB, of which everytime Sony have an announcement they rave about yet ironically the only real announcements are further delays.

So I'm thinking, what was the bloody point of holding a press conference on this beautiful Tuesday afternoon, getting people's hopes up to only crush it again? Delays, delays, delays. I can't even respond to my messages when playing a game, so I just forget about them. I'm sure people experience the same, the Buddy List thing is dead, hardly anyone bothers to communicate because they know they wont really get much of a response.

The system launched in late 2006 yet it seems we wont get the real PlayStation 3 till late 2008, 2009. I wonder who some of those who spent $600 on the console alone feel about things because I am not satisfied at all. Call this a rant, call this over-reacting, I could care less of your opinion of this comment but I am being truthful in saying I am a disappointed customer of Sony right now. All the reasons I bought the console have not materialised, I should have kept ahold of my 360 and went through 2007, and 2008 playing that happily and then bought a much cheaper PS3 this fall.

My advice to people who are considerng a PS3 right now to forget it, wait till Christmas for the cheaper version with a better software library of GT5P, MGS4, LBP, Home (maybe not) and Resistance 2.

i can barely afford the ones on my list (and the above is only a small portion of that list; i didn't even list the PS2, PSP, and 360 games i plan on picking up this year), delays only mean a good thing, for me and the companies.

i never liked the idea of Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 being so close together, and i still don't (Resistance 2 will probably hit in November 2008, which is only 4 months to February), but i'm sure the game is going to be polished up significantly, and at least we FINALLY have an actual release date for the title.

i just can't wait for Sony's Gamers Day and E3 to see what they've been cooking up (remember, Sony has 24 internal studios working on titles. by comparison, Microsoft has almost 10, and Nintendo has about 7; we haven't seen a FRACTION of what Sony's first and second party devs are working on).

you guy's can have your GOW2 and Fable2. This winter will be an awesome time for PS3 gamers. KZ2, R2, LBP, Socom, Home, MS2 and all of the multiplat line up is more than enough to keep me entertain and busy until next spring. There is just so much variety in PS3 line up.

I happy about the delay. Releasing R2 and K@ this year would have them stepping on each other toes.

Also this allows for more development time to make a better game too.

Im glad Killzone is releasing in febuary of 2009 because there are so many other games coming out late 2008 that my wallet is going to be so empty.

I will get into the fight in KZ2. The game, even shown as early as last E3 looked amazing and will continue to gain as the time goes by. Here's to looking forward to my birthday month in 2009!
