Take-Two Needs More Than GTA4

Some analysts speculate that Take-Two still has a shot at pushing Electronic Arts to raise its bid price on the success of its ultra-violent, sex-filled Grand Theft Auto IV that came out on Tuesday. Yet, shares of the company failed to climb as much as the company needs.

No one game can save a company. Now matter how big.

I'll say what I said months ago. If they are to survive, they needed the next midnight club and the ps3 exclusive L.A. Noire to both meet with success in order to stave off being bought out.

But those two games are too far away. And by then, Take Two will more than likely be bought.

Actually it depends on how bad Take 2 wants to stop EA from buying them out. If Take 2 reinvest that 400 million into their company by buyin up more stock, Then EA will have to buy at least 2.5 billion dollars worth. Also if Take 2 can or does have enough then EA is screwed no matter how much money they have

I would be more than happy to hear that Take 2 would do that. I welcome ANY attempt at stopping EA

Ya me too hate to have crappy yearly up dates to Bioshock and GTA.

EA "in GTA 2011 we add 10 new cars that you can jack and 15 new death animations this will be one of the greatest GTA's ever"

EA "in GTA 2012 we add 10 new cars that you can jack and 5 new guns this will be one of the greatest GTA's ever"

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
