Jump in and try it will be great for sure...

RyuCloudStrife4556d ago

they best fix the teleporting issue I am having with teammates and enemies jumping around.

DragonPs44556d ago

Teleportation is a Scout class ability in Killzone and it has lengthy cooldown.

bjmartynhak4556d ago

Guys, try the Classic Warzone (7vs7, roation of 5 objectives). Completely addictive.

IMHO, Team Deathmatch and matches with 24 players don't make the best of Killzone.

Xer0_SiN4556d ago

try it out guys. more newbies running around so i can fill my grenade quota with my scout LOL.

Neonridr4556d ago

Awesome, that's a sweet deal. I may have to check that out. I am on the fence about buying this game anyways, so this will give me a chance to see if it's worth my money. Thanks Sony.

Pandamobile4556d ago

Free for PlayStation Plus members*

TooTall194556d ago

How else would you be able to play online anyway? lol did you want to try out the main menu?

My_Name_BTW_Is_Dante4556d ago (Edited 4556d ago )

Yeah, Sony forces you to pay to play online now. lol @ anyone who gets ripped off by that. Meanwhile PC multiplayer games are free to play.

Wanna play BF4 multiplayer (and you likely will after finding out that Killzone: Shadow Fall flopped especially when it comes to its online) on PS4 or Xbox One? Have fun paying an extra fee. lmao

MidnytRain4556d ago (Edited 4556d ago )

They could have made it open to non-PS+ members. It's possible. They just didn't want to. They're using this to incentivize not only KZ, but PS+, too.

My_Name_BTW_Is_Dante

You're promoting a game that barely worked for weeks over one that did.

MestreRothN4G4556d ago (Edited 4556d ago )

The guy really wasted his only bubble to cry out in public?
Damn, it must be tough being so jealous.

On topic, it could be paired with one of the typical Live promotions: 'no Live Gold required to play online for a weekend'. But I still think the price is pretty fair now. There's so much being offered in Sony's services; It's SO much more than XBL gold (which btw i have to cancel before renewal). In two or three months of Plus you are winning already.

I don't mind the very small fee at all, but I bet it seems a lot bigger to kids and poor people. The deal is: if you think 4 USD a month is too much, you should be studying/working instead of playing.

BattleAxe4556d ago (Edited 4556d ago )

^^^

It's not the cost, it's the principal of it.

If you pay $60.00 for a game, and you choose not to subscribe to PS+, then you've literally paid $30.00 or more for half of the content on a disc that you can't play since multiplayer makes up half or more than half of all games, with the exception of games like Skyrim or Mass Effect.

Don't forget, anything that you get for free on PS+, you can't access if you don't renew your subscription. People don't seem to realize that at the end of the day, gamers will be spending more money because of this subscription, and that's the reason why Sony is doing this.

I don't think the good deals that you see today will last forever. Sony is trying to get people to adopt PS+, and what better way then to give away free games and chop the price of the games down. You will see less and less games added to the free games and majorly discounted games as everyone with a PS4 finally signs on and the reality of a mandatory subscription sets in and becomes a fact of life, just like it is on Xbox. The yearly fee may creep up over time also.

Three reasons why I chose PS3 over Xbox 360 at the beginning of last generation were the games, the technology (Blu-Ray) and the free online service, because you were basically getting the same service as Xbox Live, albeit with a slower interface and no cross game chat, but you would be stupid to pay for something on one console that is offered for free on another.

Well here we are at the start of another new console generation, and the facts remain the same, only this time around we have game services like Steam and Origin which offer a similar experience to consoles, but are entirely free to use and have the cheapest deals on games.

I'm spending more money to upgrade my PC then it costs to buy an Xbox One so I will outlast the PS4/Xbox One generation, but it's totally worth it, and the savings on PC games will more than make up for the money I'm spending on PC hardware, not to mention that I need a PC anyway. The best part is that I will be able to play any game I want going back as far as 20 years because of backwards compatibility. Don't worry though, you'll be able to play old PS3 games when you pay an additional subscription fee to GaiKai ;) Gotta love those fees, fees fess....

I love the fact that the visuals that my PC will be cranking out will crush the PS4. The PS4's GPU is 1.8 TFLOPS, while mine is going to be 3.97 TFLOPS. So, I think that if you're only able to afford a PS4, then you need to go to college son and go get some of that education!

I can't stand the fact that Sony's gone down this road. They're doing pretty much the same things that Microsoft does with a few perks to keep the sheeple happy.

showtimefolks4556d ago

but look running an online network is quite expensive what's wrong with $4-5 per month?

stop complaining and enjoy otherwise try Nintendo's best online network oh wait

badz1494556d ago

I don't like the idea of mandatory PS+ for online play as I have never like the idea of paying for XBL Gold from the beginning. but free games every months for PS4, PS3, Vita and PSP is more than enough to justify the blow already!

In Malaysia, we pay MYR129 or US$40 for a year of PS+ and that's is a price of the cheapest 1 brand new games I can get locally here. most games cost MYR190++ brand new. so...the savings far outweighs the cost IMO.

Shadonic4556d ago

>.> if you don't buy COD or DLC for the entire year then your basically set to have it not to mention you also get a free game every month with it so that's like 12+ games that are fairly new for 50 bucks a year. pretty good deal in my opinion.

Z_-_D_-_34556d ago (Edited 4556d ago )

This is kind of a far-fetched thought, but I reckon that Shadowfall's MP should go free-to-play entirely once it has progressed through its life cycle in the distant future. Somewhere around Fall 2014 at the earliest would do this game's community good.

Though I don't see it, it'd be nice. I have the game, but the variety of playlists and game modes they had initially thought was going to be there simply isn't being supported by the community, which is a shame. Some of the most fun I've had with the game was in the custom playlists. If it were to go free-to-play, they could immensely bolster this games player base.

Soldierone4556d ago

This will make me buy it, or hold off once and for all lol I've had it in my Amazon cart for a week, 60 dollars though is just a lot of money for me at the moment.

15 Last-Gen Games That Still Compete with Current-Gen Graphics

GB: "Say what you will about the state of the industry, but even as games evolve, their graphics remain a key aspect. Even some of the biggest flops this year sport some gorgeous visuals, as publishers and developers push the boundaries of what’s possible, pouring years of time and money into their work."

Quantum Break and Ryse are two that I was really surprised did not get an FPS boost option when played on the Series X|S. when i started playing both on the XBO, I thought they are both good, but after playing them also on my steam deck (in 60fps) I just cant go back and play the base games on XB. They really benefit from that faster frame rate.

Driveclub is another i wished had a HFR mode on PS5.

MatrixxGT588d ago

Most games this gen are the exact same except now we get faster loading through SSD and a res and fps bump. Graphically not much has improved, hell most last gen games are being relabeled and resold as “remastered” with the aforementioned updates.
I haven’t seen or played anything on either platform that couldn’t be run on last gen. Guess the law of diminishing returns is really showing itself these days.

127maXimus588d ago

Most games from 20 years ago are basically the same as today, with resolution and fps upgrades. The AI is still just as braindead as it always has been, worlds are full of static, boring characters that do the same thing over and over.

Demetrius587d ago

Smh another reason why graphics haven't improved that much is because most devs too caught up on cross gen. Ps4 was/still a dope console but time has moved on we're halfway close to a ps6 reveal and devs still will be making games on last gen in 2025. Then theres Microsoft purposely got the Xbox series s that causes more devs to try to pull strings as much as they can smh. It's a mixed bag of stuff, the only ones I see pushing hardware is sonys studios and even some indie games look better

Why Guerrilla Games Shouldn't Abandon the Killzone Series

Hugely disappointingly, it seems that Guerrilla Games, developers of the Killzone and Horizon series, may be done with Killzone for good.

1 was fine, overhyped as a " halo" killer
2 was a graphical beast at the time, and felt heavy
3 was good a refinement of 2 but not much else. weird audio issues environment were to quiet
shadow fall was pretty but bland

OtterX595d ago (Edited 595d ago )

Shadowfall had great Multiplayer though. Too bad the campaign was meh at best. It did have the occasional great moment sprinkled in.

TheNamelessOne595d ago (Edited 595d ago )

I played through 2/3 multiple times. I played through the original once, but it felt pretty lukewarm for me. I couldn't be bothered to beat Shadow Fall. I got a couple hours in and just went "I'm done". Never touched it again. It was awesome on the tech side, being a launch title, but it didn't even match up to the first game when it came to actually having fun playing it.

Rude-ro595d ago

3 in 3d was an amazing experience to be had.
Although not many experienced it as intended for good reasons.

just_looken595d ago

You forgot the ai advancements on the playstation 2 killzone one you could have a full team of bots doing everything even playing the objective that was a big thing.

In killzone 2 they always flanked you and when available used the high ground.

Playing killzone 2 no hud 5.1 audio was/is awesome

MDTunkown595d ago

They should finish Horizon story first

darthv72595d ago

I dont mind if someone else takes up the mantle for the KZ franchise. We are several years removed from the first game. It certainly could use a remake to gauge interest in the rest of the series. I know it has its fans... Im thinking of how a proper reboot can rekindle that old dormant flame and bring in a new generation of fans in the process.

just_looken595d ago

You forgot killzone mercenaries on the ps vita but it was the worst selling sony game for awhile there.

Yui_Suzumiya594d ago

Yeah, a remake would be pretty awesome

anast595d ago

They should let it go or sell it. No use spending millions on this project.

LucasRuinedChildhood595d ago

Would like a new IP before Horizon 3. Just because games take so long to make these days.

Killzone After a Decade in Hibernation

It's been 10 years since Killzone: Shadow Fall arrived for PlayStation 4 early adopters, and there's no sign of another sequel.

Obscure_Observer938d ago

Sadly it was dumped by Guerrilla to focus on Horizon games only. Mainline, VR and Multiplayer.

Vengeance1138938d ago

lmao sadly? Are you pretending to have actually played the series lol Sorry bud, no Killzone on Xbox.

Cacabunga937d ago

With the downfall of COD and BF, Killzone def. has a chance to make a groundbreaking comeback

937d ago
Notellin937d ago (Edited 937d ago )

What a low-functioning reply here typical of the fanboy N4G community.

Rimeskeem938d ago

“Dumped”

I think it’s called moving on.

Barlos937d ago (Edited 937d ago )

They brought out 4 main games and 2 spin offs: one on PSP and one on Vita. That's a decent run for any series. I also understand that Shadow Fall wasn't a success commercially despite it coming out at PS4 launch, and as a big Killzone fan even I couldn't get into it, so I think Sony/Guerrilla could see it was time to move on.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love another Killzone game in the vein of KZ2 but it's just not happening. Hell, I'd even take a remake or remaster of the first 3 games.

I'd hardly say it was "dumped" though, it spanned 3 console generations and 2 handheld generations.

1Victor937d ago

@obscured:”Sadly it was dumped by Guerrilla to focus on Horizon games only. Mainline, VR and Multiplayer”

Happily it was dumped by Guerrilla to focus on Horizon games only. Mainline, VR and Multiplayer( edited to reflect the writer true feelings and allegiance)
Kill zone was a FPS far ahead of its glitched competitors with nauseating bad camera angles, 10 years old screaming curses like a drunk sailor and bot aiming assist.

ChasterMies937d ago

“Sadly”?

The Horizon games were among the best games of all time. Killzone Shadowfail wasn’t.

Shane Kim937d ago

True, but damn the memories of KZ2 multiplayer. Still no MP as fun as that to this date.

Mr_cheese937d ago

Dumped and shelved are two different things

Tacoboto937d ago

And Sony as a whole dumped the FPS genre so they wouldn't have products competing with COD and (until purchase) Destiny.

GoodGuy09938d ago

I loved the KZ2+3 campaigns and MP in 2. There could be so much more done with the franchise. Horizon although good, I wish they'd go back to this wonderful IP. Take a break from Horizon please.

Flawlessmic937d ago

Agreed dude, I would absolutely love a reboot of the series, one can only hope that either resistance or killzone makes a return.

Have nothing but great memories, especially of the first 3 games, but all 4 were show stoppers graphically.

blackbeld937d ago

To making it a successful reboot they have to change that buttons layout! Make it playable like the cod button layout. Otherwise I’ll skipping it again.

Rynxie937d ago

And that's the reason why many fps games failed. Instead of being original and catering to it's fans, they tried to make it like cod. No, kz doesn't need cod button layout. It needs to be like it was on kz2 or balanced liked kz3.

Lightning77938d ago

I think Kill Zone would do great in Sony's LS push. As well as MAG reboot and bring back Resistance into LS.

Sharky231937d ago

@Lightning77

I think WarHawk would have been a great Live service game.

thorstein938d ago

Killzone games were so polished. The gameplay was just simple joy. MP was one of the best experiences.

I remember KZ3, just staring at how awesome they animated the water and then getting wasted because of it.

P_Bomb938d ago

It’s been a decade? Now I’m sad.

LiViNgLeGaCY937d ago

I hear ya bud. We're due for a revival.
