From Software always releases full games. which is one thing i love about them. an if anyone wants to bring up Artorias Of the Abyss, listen they really didn't have to do that but fans were the ones asking for it so they delivered a great piece of content worth the money.

And it was phenomonal dlc that obviously wasn't part od the game and held out. It extended the awesomeness that is Souls.

The great thing about this news is that they can immediately begin working on a ps4 version that allows u to transfer characters. Though as far as dlc, and their push for online interaction. I would never be against some cracrazy endgame content like dragons dogma put out.

Good! They haven't sold their "Souls" to the devil

Frame Gride was an awesome game from them for the Dreamcast!

nope1114535d ago

Didn't they say that last time? although, fans did requested the DLC

Blacktric4535d ago

They did, but I wouldn't mind to see them backpedal again if they're going to release a fantastic DLC that's packed with content like Artorias Of The Abyss.

TheOneWhoIsTornApart4535d ago

Artorias of the Abyss was fantastic. Im sure From Software will make a DLC for DS2 later some time after release and be a memorable experience.

joab7774535d ago

Its good and bad. The good is obvious, the baf is that I will want to play on the ps4, but I simply can't wait and it will b so long before we see it. Wish they had built for all 4.

Swiggins4535d ago

I'm actually opposed to a PS4 or Xbone release because it would further divide the Souls community. Now, if PS4/PS3 crossplay was a feature, I'd be all for it.

SolidDuck4535d ago

There's still that broken arch stone in demons I always wished they would have done tho. They built that specifically for dlc, and then never released any. Damn shame. Oh well, love the souls games.

Many of those who hate Dark Souls II hate it because it's not Dark Souls. The same people love Dark Souls III because it isn't Dark Souls II.

And so many of the issues at the centre of common complaints about DS2 are present in DS3 and sometimes even DS1. The hatred and bile spewed over this perfectly decent game is ludicrous.

I don’t think it’s a terrible game, but like a movie sequel by a different director, for me, it does NOT capture any of the “magic” felt from the Miyazaki entries. Boss battles don’t feel epic, environments don’t have the same sense of awe, the enemy variety isn’t particularly interesting, the art direction just feels bland, about the only thing I can give it praise for is some of the music.

Now, again, this is only how I feel about it, so I’m not trying to invalidate his you feel about the game, but it is the worst entry in the series due to those factors and it’s the least re-visited entry, for me.

Is it decent as a game on its own? Sure. But in comparison to the Miyazaki entries, it does not stack up and I believe that’s where many were disappointed with it.

PrimeVinister374d ago

Completely fair. I cannot disagree either, mate.

MrWood374d ago (Edited 374d ago )

You can also play it in VR flawlessly on PC & controller with the LukeRoss mod so… another reason to jump back in with extra immersion.

jznrpg374d ago

It’s not a bad game it’s just not as good as the others

The controls felt very clunky to me, I tried playing it after beating Darksouls 3 and it didn’t feel fluid, obviously the hit detection is less superior for been an older game.

Man, I dunno about that. In fact, most boss fights in Dark Souls 2 were forgettable.
