If there's no post apocalyptic fallout in fallout game. it is not a fallout. and who the heck would hope for them ruining their game like this ?

Kryptix4536d ago

After reading the article, you make a really good point.

What I would love to see though is for a Fallout game to have a cause and effect system with a story timeline spanning from 5 to 10 years. For example, save a town from thirst and death as a side quest, trigger a main story mission that takes you a few years into the future, (like Fallout 3's intro) then you go back to the same town and see the town blossoming with it's own market place and new NPCs. Of course, let it be more advanced than that with small political choices included and watch the Wasteland completely change because of you in the span of a decade or less. It would make the Karma system much more in depth and rich and add a lot of replay value.

Just my idea, but Fallout is already great how it is and it should always be a world of survival and new danger war can create.

Honestly, this story is the most moronic thing I have read this year. The name is Fallout. The game is set in a fallout setting. If you call it Fallout and remove the fallout, it's not fallout. You would have to call it "happy happy land after the reconstruction of society".

To whoever wrote this article. You should read The Crysalids by John Wyndham (author of the day of the Triffids). Kind of relevant to your article ;)

There is nothing after the post apocalypse world. Did any of the games ever show the world as being rebuilt in any major way? No, it's a dreary deadly place that succumbs to chaos and all that is wrong with mankind. Fallout is not a story of a new better world, or even one that might emerge. It's a story about lasting as long as one can. Even the G.E.C.K. is at best a thing of fleeting hope, not a world saving device.

Fallout Day Broadcast Announced For October 23rd

This year's Fallout Day will be celebrated in style, with a broadcast that will give players a glimpse at the future of Fallout 76, the latest entry in the series.

Fallout 76 this, Fallout 76 that…Jesus

Remake of Fallout in the style of the Bethesda games

Fallout 3 or New Vegas remakes

A new spin off like what New Vegas was

Anything. Just not more 76.

Relientk77580d ago

Wait just Fallout 76? Lol then I'm not watching it, not missing anything

cammers1995580d ago (Edited 580d ago )

Fallout 76 is a pile of trash. Give us something new. A remaster, port, new game, remake, something.

Bethesda Game Studios developers form 'wall to wall' union

The Fallout and Elder Scrolls developer is a union shop now.

porkChop670d ago

That's good to see. For the last 5-10 years every spring the gaming industry has seen mass layoffs after reporting record profits. It's disgusting. This industry needs more unionization to offer some protection to the people who make these games possible.

DarXyde669d ago

Many industries need unions.

Michiel1989668d ago

that's the price you pay to conduct your business in the land of the free. Stuff like that doesn't happen over here

coldfire984668d ago

Unions are rarely if ever good for the consumer. Often good for the worker but not for us consumers.

Christopher668d ago

Yes, consumers no longer benefit from overworked and underpaid labor, aka decrease in overhead that allows them to sell goods made at a lower price. Kind of the reason things are made in China rather than the U.S. Well thought out.

But, now hear me out, what if the 'good to see' comment wasn't about being a consumer but a caring, apathetic fellow human being who wants to see people get paid what they're worth and not just get laid off all willy-nilly when the suits need to make their books look good for the FY reporting and make more money for shareholders who don't do any of the work either?

MrDead669d ago

It's too late for Tango and Arkane Austin but fingers crossed that this will help. MS could have a friend in the White House soon though, and his thoughts on Union's should be worrying all in the US.

MeteorPanda669d ago

GOOD. Stop taking it in the ass from shareholders "we want a space game" but our fans want elderscrolls "YES BUT SPACE IS HUGE LOOK AT STAR CITIZEN!"

It's more than time. I could use a good, new horror shooter.

jeromeface676d ago

Quake isn't new... far from it.

1nsomniac676d ago (Edited 676d ago )

I’d love another Quake, maybe even a more horror slanted Doom.

I’d be very happy with a new IP though.

Friendlygamer676d ago

I would like a wolfstein reboot by Id, machinegames ones are good but too enfatuated with cinematics

coolbeans676d ago

id would deserve major props if they rolled the dice on *either* of those choices.
