Warframe PS4 Review | RGN

Jon of RealGamerNewz writes, "Taking the role as one of the Tenno (ancient warriors) players must strike back against the Grineer Empire, Corpus, and anyone else in your way as you conquer various types of missions on their quest. Unrivaled hit detection is presented by developer Digital Extremes in the PlayStation 4 edition of Warframe without the headaches of building a computer to spec. Co-op gameplay is enjoyed for free without any pay-to-win requirements and an endless amount of replay value is delivered which is both easy to get into a fun to master. Micro transactions are there as an option but there's virtually nothing in the game that you can't earn yourself through grinding."

My personal game of this year, absolutely love it. Have been EXTREMELY addicted to it since open beta on Steam in March or April.

I feel that all the PS4 reviews have just not sunk enough time into it to see everything it offers. You get just a small sample of the game in its first few hours, but it doesn't really open up until long after, and I just don't believe the critics did this.

I agree with you. The game really does open up the longer you play. It has been a surprise gem on the system.

nice to see this game finally made it. Hopefully it looks and runs smooth.

TGG_overlord60d ago

Very much so, and I sure hope so. I do recall that people pointed that out for System Shock as well (I think that problem has been solved now).

I just downloaded it on my phone a few weeks ago and the framerate isn't bad if you set it to 60hz. I suspect the switch 2 version should fair better interms of performance.

TGG_overlord59d ago

From what I've seen so far, it runs pretty smoth on the Switch 2.

It's originally a game released in 2013, obviously a lot has been changed since, but still the base code for this game was in development before at least 2011, which means that thing was probably going to run on PS3 and XB360 with a few tweaks, Digital Extremes just chose to skip into next gen... Someone would have had to majorly fuck up for the Switch 2 not to run Warframe smoothly, a game with 15 year old mid power target specs! It's a very light and optimized game by now anyway, it famously runs well on relatively old notebooks with CPU integrated graphics... Hell, even the mobile version manages to not run like ass.

TGG_overlord59d ago

That is true, so there should be no problems like you said, unless someone has messed-up really badly.

Haven’t played this since it launched on ps4. Surprised it’s still even a thing.

DivineHand12559d ago

The game has received many quality of life updates since the PS4 days and receives content drops several times per year. The best part is that it is not pay to win.

It is a great way to unwind, but you will need to be active in the community to play this game. Most of the mechanics are explained by youtubers, forum posts and wiki pages.

TGG_overlord59d ago

Exactly. And nope, it was never a P2W title, and from what I understand, it will remain that way as well.

TGG_overlord59d ago

The updates and community keeps the game going.
