Phoenix Down 18.5 - Dark Souls

Phoenix Down is hosted by Drew Leachman and Matt Quinn. Each segment focuses on an older game the duo decides upon with another member of the ZTGD crew or special guest. They play through and discuss the mechanics and how well it holds up today. It is the ultimate in backlog elimination.

The final episode of Dark Souls is here. Some beat it, some had their PS3s die because of it.

I only picked it up 3 days ago, and I'm hooked. Just made it to the Taurus Demon Boss for the 1st time. Died. Taking a break.
Looking forward to the rest of this one and the next as well!

Make sure to climb the ladder behind the fog gate and do a drop down attack on his head. Does a ton of damage. Coating your weapon in Gold Pine Resin helps too. He's weak against lightning attacks.

Great to hear everyone! For a game that was massively intimidating and I was sure I would hate for bending me over so much, Dark Souls has become one of my favorite games this generation. Can't wait for DSII.

This feels like the epitome of a 'tepid take'. Dark Souls has always worn its gothic horror influences on its sleeve, it isn't exactly subtle.

Dark fantasy, I'd say.

Horror is a bit much. Bloodborne is closer to horror.

gold_drake209d ago

mh ur right actually.

dark souls plays around with horror themes without being a straight "horror" game.

bloodborn definitely starts out as that haha.
