So 1080p/60fps for PS4, at least.Nice.
Figured they would lowball it to 30fps

1080p/60fps for Ps4 and X1 targeted...they think they wont have any problem to reach it

electricone854549d ago

Don't try to twist his words. 1080p/60fps is the target is for both systems.

edgeofsins4549d ago

@electricone85.

Yes. And according to what they have said previously they said that 1080p/60fps is "absolutely doable" on PS4. So basically they meant the target is for X1 as PS4 has already reached it.

Justjoined1234548d ago

@edgeofsins

well you just responded to his claim of twisting words by twisting "absolutely doable" into "its done". GJ!

ZodTheRipper4549d ago

lol you should consider 'game development 101'

FrigidDARKNESS4549d ago

Actually i think the x1 might be the lead platform. It was shown exclusively behind closed doors running on X1 hardware at Gamescom 2013.

http://www.vg247.com/forum/...

DoesUs4549d ago

It's not lead platform, sorry. Just to clear that up for you. Don't want you getting your info all mixed up.

AngelicIceDiamond4549d ago (Edited 4549d ago )

So both are hitting the high priorities. And they are on there way on doing so.

@electricone85 Exactly don't spin or twist this. Both are gonna be 1080P 60 frames. End of story

Anyway I don't know if I can play this by myself I hope this game has some sort of Co-op or something.

avengers19784549d ago

Why didn't they say 1080p 60fps on both XB1 and PS4 then?
I liked the VGX footage and it looked damn good running on PS4...

solar4548d ago

should be a "target", should be the "standard".

Pope_Kaz_Hirai_II4548d ago

So this game must take nothing to run if it gets to 1080p on xbone.

Kornholic4548d ago

But if they won't be able to achieve 1080p/60fps on PS4, I'd rather have 60fps/720p than 30fps/1080p.

_QQ_4548d ago (Edited 4548d ago )

maybe but only after a couple cuts.

donman14548d ago

Damn... not good news at all. This clearly means the PS4 version will be dummy down to get the Xbox720... i mean XboxOne version remotely close to 1080p and running at 60FPS. I still have this game on my radar for the PS4.

XiSasukeUchiha4549d ago

Targeting that for Xbone hell no most likely 900p at 60fps or 1080p 30fps for both or cloud assistant activated(transformers)

Dewitt4549d ago

I like how you can tell what devs can do with a platform, these guys aren't rushing their title like 3/4th of launch titles. You will see a lot more max resolution games down the line for XB1.

lets_go_gunners4549d ago

Don't entertain the ignorant.

staticdash224549d ago (Edited 4549d ago )

Infinity Ward couldn't hit 1080p, DICE couldn't hit 900p, Ubisoft couldn't hit 1080p

No reason for me to think they will hit 1080p native anytime soon. Sure, devs tools will get better, but it will never catch PS4. I'm sure they've come to terms already.

JackISbacK4549d ago

yeah, assassins creed and bf are lot demanding in terms of raw power but were still close to ps4 and people must also know that most devs recieved their xb1 dev kits after the e3 ,where those people were having ps4 from long time and also must know that m$ also rushed dev kits providing them incomplete sofwares for development which caused many development problems ,but now devs belive that they can get same graphics on xb1 like they get on ps4 and article above is a proof.

UnholyLight4549d ago

@Dewitt

Thank you, because that is exactly what is going to happen. The launch games were especially rushed on the X1 platform.

Back-to-Back4549d ago

If COD cant do 1080/60 on your console, then no game on the face of the Earth ever will. COD is still being run on one of the oldest active engines to date. Maybe if those cheap pricks at Activision would spend some money on r&d they could make a better game.

ambientFLIER4549d ago (Edited 4549d ago )

Back-to-Black

Yeah...except...no. COD Ghosts had issues running on top end PCs that ran Battlefield 4 just fine on max settings. Obviously the engine was rushed and not well optimized. Infinity Ward even said they got their X1 kits late and didn't have as much time with it.

Forza is 1080/60 and a few announced games will be soon...

Nice try, though.

SonyMSnintendoPC4548d ago (Edited 4548d ago )

@Dewitt- I agree. The second wave of games will perform better as they weren't rushed for launch.

SonyMSnintendoPC4548d ago

@Back-to-Back- quote "If COD cant do 1080/60 on your console, then no game on the face of the Earth ever will"....
What, are you slow? Forza 5 has already hit that benchmark. Wow, some people aren't very smart..

greenlantern28144548d ago

yes, your comment makes sense games will look better as devs get more time with the systems. Because the same thing will happen on PS4 as well.

JeffGUNZ4549d ago

Please tell me the games you have developed on the Xbox One so I can see your credentials and experience working with the tech. Oh, wait, you have none. Doesn't trolling get stale after a while?

LoveOfTheGame4549d ago

At least give him time to make up fake credentials before you say he has none.

Sony_Fan4548d ago

Probably 900p and some subpar framerate on ps4.

curtis924549d ago

Skeptical....... but if they can hit those numbers, awesome. One of them will probably prove more challenging than the other.

MasterCornholio4549d ago

Well at least they are trying to get 1080P and 60FPS on both platforms.

JackISbacK4549d ago

yeah you are right ,they are not like infinity word which said.
infinity wordz:- "oh time outz time outz itz 720pz on xb1 because we leftz no timez ,we want to pisszzz our gamez aszz soonzz aszz we canz and cantz take any delayz for optimisationzzz soryz xb1zzz userzzz"

techlad studio:-"we belive in both next gen consoles and are targetting 1080p 60fps on both consoles and belive we can get them on both consoles its a big thumps up for 1080p 60fps on both consoles."

yeah past mistakes can be from m$ for providing faulty software to devs ,whcih stated by many devs at early stage of development but now things are changing and realising both consoles are having their own positive sides.
goood work techland and i'am also expecting this from
cd project after their comment of "xb1 is more easy to develop and we can get same performance on both next gen consoles".

PS3n3604548d ago

I thought putting z on all your words was played out by now. The internet must have some new nerd speak for you to bandwagon jump on.

WeAreLegion4549d ago

That's good to hear. The game looks amazing, already!

MidnytRain4549d ago

I wonder how much devs are going to sacrifice to get their games running at 60 frames and 1080p.

I_am_Batman4549d ago

Depends on the game. I guess In most cases the majority of devs will sacrifice framerate first.

ambientFLIER4549d ago (Edited 4549d ago )

In my opinion, 900P/60FPS is better than 1080P/30FPS.

Ryse proved that a well done game will be gorgeous in 900P and you won't be able to tell the difference.

I_am_Batman4549d ago

You will be able to tell the difference. What they did with Ryse was lowering the resolution to be able to improve the quality of the lighting among other things. So yeah they improved the overall visuals of the game. But at the same quality 1080p will always look better than 900p.

And your preference of 900p at 60fps over 1080p at 30fps is a weird example. 900p at 60fps is actually harder to achieve than 1080p at 30fps. It pushes around 50% more pixels per second.

edgeofsins4549d ago

And he disagreed with Bruce Wayne because he didn't like being wrong.

MidnytRain4548d ago

Ditto, Batman. Just look at BF4 on PS4. There's a clear difference between 900p and 1080p.

I knew holding off playing it for 10 years was the right call.

ocelot07327d ago

I remember playing this for the first time on the PS4 and it knocking me sick and hurting my eyes due to the horrible motion blur and FPS.

Played it a lot on pc a year later. Then again on ps5 once they dropped the 60fps update. I'll be giving it another go. Mad how they have kept updating this game for 10 years.

Ten Years Later - Still Going Strong: Dying Light: Retouched Update Releasing June 26

Hey Survivors! Tymon here, your favorite Dying Light Franchise Director.

It's been an absolutely wild month here at Techland! We're in the thick of what I'm calling the "Summer of Dying Light," delivering updates and big news across all three Dying Light games. Just a few weeks ago, we dropped the first gameplay for Dying Light: The Beast, revealed its release date, and kicked off pre-orders (if you haven't seen it, check out my last dev blog). I'm incredibly proud of what we're building with The Beast - it’s the culmination of more than 10 years of experience in open-world survival horror!

But here's the thing: we never forget where we came from. That's why, this week, we're not just looking forward - we're rolling out significant updates for both the original Dying Light and Dying Light 2: Stay Human. We promised to support our games for a long time, and we're committed to continuing that support, right through and beyond the launch of Dying Light: The Beast.

Looking Back At The $386,000 Dying Light 'My Apocalypse Edition', 10 Years Later

It has been more than ten years since Dying Light was released, but what happened to the $386,000 'My Apocalypse Edition' of the game?

jznrpg457d ago

Nobody bought it for an obvious reason.

Gamingsince1981457d ago

Wtf did this edition come with ? A real helicopter and a real zombie virus ?

Vithar457d ago

For one lucky person willing to spend $386,000, the My Apocalypse Edition of Dying Light promised a staggering collection. It included the buyer’s face in the game, a human-sized ‘Volatile’ statue, and parkour lessons with a freerunning team. It also came with night vision goggles, an all-expenses paid round trip to Techland’s offices, and four signed copies of the game. Oh, and it also came with a custom-built, ‘zombie-proof’ survival shelter.

LOL but it was a stunt from the team:
‘It was a PR stunt and got a lot of media attention for its wild and over-the-top nature, it was designed to generate buzz around the game’s release. It did a great job of getting the game noticed, though! But nobody purchased it – thankfully, I guess!’
