"The 8th generation has heated up in the last few weeks with the launch of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PlayStation 4 hit US shelves on November 15, followed by the Xbox One a week later on November 22.
The PlayStation 4 managed to sell 984,212 in the first 48 hours in the US, while there were 732,569 Xbox One's sold. The PlayStation 4 outsold the Xbox One by about one third.
There were 2,255,864 games sold for the PlayStation 4. That would put the attach ratio at 2.29 games sold for every console sold. There was also 1,885,427 games sold for the Xbox One. That would put the attach ratio at 2.57 games sold for every console sold. That figure is slightly higher than the PlayStation 4."

Dead Rising 3 has sold over 5 million copies, making it the top-selling game in the series despite being exclusive to Xbox One and PC.
This really needs a re-release. Enjoyed all 4 games with 3 probably being my second favourite.
Surprised this didn't get a Series S/X boost. I believe it's still locked to 30fps. Then again so is the PC version until you go into the .ini file and change it.
Crytek : In episode two of Our Story, the team discusses the evolution of Crysis into Crysis 2 and 3 (and the pressures that came with it), how a local connection landed an incredible collaboration with legendary composer Hans Zimmer, and the New York trip that inspired much of Crysis 2. For the gladiators among you, you’ll also get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the development of Ryse: Son of Rome and the attention to detail that went into it.
GB: "Say what you will about the state of the industry, but even as games evolve, their graphics remain a key aspect. Even some of the biggest flops this year sport some gorgeous visuals, as publishers and developers push the boundaries of what’s possible, pouring years of time and money into their work."
Quantum Break and Ryse are two that I was really surprised did not get an FPS boost option when played on the Series X|S. when i started playing both on the XBO, I thought they are both good, but after playing them also on my steam deck (in 60fps) I just cant go back and play the base games on XB. They really benefit from that faster frame rate.
Driveclub is another i wished had a HFR mode on PS5.
Most games this gen are the exact same except now we get faster loading through SSD and a res and fps bump. Graphically not much has improved, hell most last gen games are being relabeled and resold as “remastered” with the aforementioned updates.
I haven’t seen or played anything on either platform that couldn’t be run on last gen. Guess the law of diminishing returns is really showing itself these days.
Smh another reason why graphics haven't improved that much is because most devs too caught up on cross gen. Ps4 was/still a dope console but time has moved on we're halfway close to a ps6 reveal and devs still will be making games on last gen in 2025. Then theres Microsoft purposely got the Xbox series s that causes more devs to try to pull strings as much as they can smh. It's a mixed bag of stuff, the only ones I see pushing hardware is sonys studios and even some indie games look better
xbox one looks like they are wining the console wars we have 3 xbox one
Not trying to stir anything up, just guiding some misguided people here, PS4 in NA the past week was all but nonexistent in stock due to supply being emphasized in the UK. So bulk of what PS4 has sold in NA is from the first 48 hours. Compared to XB1 with 2 weeks of sales. To say it's even is a gross oversimplification.
Who cares let's all play videogames.🎮🙌
Is one selling more than the other?....yes....does that mean the other one is doing poorly?......no.....
Didnt the ps4 sell 1million+ in 24 hours in NA? It only has stopped selling because it was all sold out.
