
A short piece of news: the development team for MapleStory recently revealed that the team working on MapleStory 2 is a totally different one. Both games will be developed parallel to each other with no “clashes”. Both games will tread very different paths, although this was not explained in detail.

This must be one of those Mandela effects; cause I've never heard of *anything* mentioned in this article. Complaining that a game that no one knew existed has been cancelled in order to push a new game that a year from now no one will have heard of....I'm not that concerned.
I didn't even know there was a Maple Story 2. I knew there was a first game, because some years back there were non-stop Engrishy ads promoting it on a ton of sites, saying things like "Nothing can stop you...to play this game 24/7!" I never played it though, so I guess I'll never know if it was that good. Perhaps it was better than the English of whoever came up with those ads, but that wouldn't be saying a lot.

It truly is a sad day in MMORPG history. Maplestory 2 is planning to completely shut down on May 27th, 2020.
