GameTap writes: "Nobody can accuse developer Radical Entertainment of not being ambitious. According to the studio, its current project Prototype will reinvigorate the open-world genre--which it says has gotten stale--with a blast of originality and freshness.
To do this, it turns to the popular location of New York, which has been home to such free-roaming games as Spider-Man 2, The Godfather, and the venerable Grand Theft Auto series. As the game begins, protagonist Alex Mercer wakes up on an autopsy table while the autopsy is taking place. Understandably, this is not the most amenable of experiences, so he quickly vacates the premises and goes out on his quest to figure out what on earth is going on.
Following in the tradition of not-completely-human antiheroes like Hitman's Agent 47 and God of War's Kratos, Alex is not the nicest of people…nor is he really what you'd consider "people," for that matter. However, thanks to his amnesia, he's not exactly sure what he is, or for that matter, how he got that way, so he has to delve into the conspiracy that somehow includes both a military takeover of New York City and a rampant epidemic that's infecting the denizens of New York and turning them into stark raving inhuman lunatics."

From Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Batman: Arkham City to breakout hit Dispatch and new Marvel Cosmic Invasion, these are 10 of the best superhero games you can play today.

Not all video game protagonists are sweet, jolly, or wholesome. Folks like Agent 47 are cold, ruthless, and reserved and it shows.
Ah, fond memories of strangling all the people in their hotel rooms in Hitman 1
Lara Croft, Nathan Drake etc, cos they pretend to be the good guys but are mass murderers that show no remorse.

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.
Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.
It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny
Armored Core VI?
Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.
Is something big coming soon to branch the story?
No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).
This year it isn't going to be easy for my wallet, but what am i complaining about, what matters is that i enjoy those god-given experiences.
