Played on the PS3, very good game, at first it was hard to level up, but once you got going, the strategic movements and attacks was an awesome change from normal RPGs.

It is a good game indeed.

I thought I heard something about it or the sequel coming to PS4. Am I remembering correctly or not?

@ feraldrgn

Thank's for the link. They said in the comments that they will decide on PS4 version after PS3/Vita versions release.

Put 200+ hours to this game. Best $15 dollars in PSN

It's a SRPG but that's about where they end in similarity. It's a grinding game, and the story is non existent. There's no generic units, only characters. Battle system wise they're different besides the fact that they both don't use a "player phase/enemy phase." The turns go by the enemies and characters speed, which is a system I prefer; although, as a result it leads to quick defeats by stronger lvl enemies because they'll get 3 turns in by the time you get your first one. Also, it's last hit who gets all the EXP, so you'll start to see a great disparity between your characters if you don't purposely give out last hits. In battle, you have a certain number of actions you can take (unlike FFT which is move and attack). If you have 7 "sub-turns" you can move 7 steps, attack 7 times, or move 3 and attack 4 (although I recommended always spending your last sub-turn on defending). The problem with this is is that you're not going to watch a crazy super-anime special attack 7 times in a single turn, so you'll start to skip some animations...then you'll start skipping all the animations and it feels like you're not even playing them game.

Overall, it's a great game and I put about 100 hours into it (story + post game). You can't change difficulty on the fly but if you're real-man you should play on Hard mode for the full grindy experience. You should definitely check it out, has a nice old-school feel and AMAZING soundtrack :)

There's also the sequel rainbow skies. Tbh injust assumed this was already on the switch. I enjoyed it for what it was. Never did finish it though. I had the ps4 physical edition.

Yea, story wasn't great, especially dialogue, but some of the battle tactics got quite fun at higher levels. Sadly, I think Rainbow Skies sunk Sidequest Studios bc it came out years later than originally promised, and Vita enthusiasm had already died by then. EastAsiaSoft still owns this though as a publisher, so I'm guessing they're trying to squeeze some more out of it. I'd recommend it for like $15, probably nothing above that. I liked it enough.

I assumed it was too when I wrote it up. Never finished it either as fun as it was.

Vita's Swansong is Coming - But What Will it Be?

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "Since its launch in 2011, the PlayStation Vita has continually soldiered on despite western AAA support drying up, its own manufacturer moving its efforts to the PS4, and constant internet doom-saying that the console is dead (which, judging by a recent sales leak of North American software, it effectively has been for a number of years). Yet it’s taken until 2018 for Sony to deal the final two death blows – announcing that both production of physical carts in the west and distribution of the hardware worldwide will be ending in 2019.

This made me wonder about when we’ll see the final game land on the console and what form it will take. We already have multiple titles announced for release next year, including some final physical releases sneaking in just before the cut-off point. Even with western physical production ending, carts will still be available in Asia & Japan, and beyond that we’ve been given no date for the shut-down of the PlayStation Store (which will allow strong supporters like Ratalaika Games to keep going). So just what form will the final Vita game actually take?"
