MasonicGamer: After only 3 days my Xbox One stopped reading discs. I rang Microsoft on Monday 25th November 2013 and was told that a new replacement console would be dispatched to me within 24hrs. 48hrs later I still have not received my replacement console or an email saying the console has been dispatched.
Today Wednesday 28th November I called Xbox One Customer Support to find out when I would receive my replacement console and to ask other questions about the Xbox One.

So how long should I wait to play my £450 console and £250 worth of launch titles games I bought?

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

Xbox has always been different.
We started with a simple idea. Games should bring people together through shared experiences. That led to the first Xbox in 2001, Xbox Live in 2002, and new ways to connect, from friends lists and achievements to parties and play across devices. Today, Xbox reaches over 500 million players around the world, with some of the most important franchises in entertainment.
If they go back to exclusive games it at least shows that they are finally getting it. They would be turning down immediate money for something that will potentially workout in the long term.
Only issue is they've already opened Pandora's box. A lot of their base has moved to PC or jumped to PS. So will be a long road to get back on track.
We have been saying this from day one exclusives are a must if you are going to be selling hardware look at Nintendo and Sony before Jim Ryan. That's the proven formula. You had some that were deluded and blinded by loyalty accepting that multiplat was the future and that MS was merely getting ahead of where the industry was headed, but at least they can finally see the light and agree with what everyone has been saying for a decade+
Despite all of that, it's clear that Microsoft's Xbox division is broken beyond repair.
Kudos to you for being so patient with these guys. The fact that you basically had to repeat all your problems again to this new guy is ridiculous.

It's never kool to have to call them. I just had to call PS hotline 2 or 3 hours ago. Waited 30 mins in wrong line, then less than 5 in the PS4 help. Console was spitting out disk. Unplugged console for one min, now console working normal. Hope it doesn't keep doing that but that seems like an easy fix.
Not the best customer support but coming from a ps fan he sent it off on Monday and expected his replacement xbone to be there friday ? Good luck lol, they would have not got the broken xbone till Wednesday at the earliest so he was looking at least the following week to get a new one bk imo. Launch issues happen FACT
