This is quite interesting but I don't see any reason why developers can't do the same with the PS4 to be honest. Anything MS or developers do now will sadly only be to play catch up with the PS4.

If they could have, they would have. Their weaker RAM and weaker GPU can't be unlocked. They'd need new components to install, which will increase the price of Xbone.

With CD Projekt being a Windows developer at heart, they're just trying to remain neutral.

I agree, what they allude to seems applicable to both platforms. This happens during every generation, that's why games look/perform better later in a consoles life cycle. Once Sony/MS workout optimizing their OS they can open up more RAM for games.

I really don't know why this is news to anyone or why anyone is getting defensive over this. In 2 yrs MS cloud compute will be more implemented, but by then Sony will also already have their Could compute solution up and running, reports suggest. These companies will NOT let the other get too much of a leg up.

Ok so a well known and talented PC devs aren't stating the popular opinion. And the popular opinion is PS4 is easier to develop for then X1. According to the community. When in fact CD has both consoles in their offices programming for both. And they state the X1 is easier to develop for.

So do we believe a popular opinion of this community or what CD Projkts are doing with the console. That's a easy one I would have to be stupid to go with the popular opinion. Btw I say "popular opinion because there's no official source from official devs stating the PS4 is easier to make then X1.

Well...i'll keep this short. As far as im concerned, CDprojekt Red are one of...if not the most trustworthy source, when it comes to anything tech or gaming related. They specifically stayed indie so they don't have to be influenced like most other devs out there.

I agree with part of your comment. The developer opinion isn't coming from AAA's in fact the developer opinion so far is both systems are the same. The developers your probably thinking of is Indies. With that being said I don't know any dev that are comparing those 2 directly. The "resonlutiongate" is a good example of gamers as well as game outlets in thinking the PS4 is easier to develop for. It makes sense devs think the same even if they're not stating it.

Microsoft, really, you need to stop trying to hype up your console. We know it's not as powerful as the PS4 and nothing you can do will make it remotely close.

What? almost everything I've heard was positive about drivatars (XB1 cloud) and Forza 5 is the in my opinion the best looking game out now sure it is a racing game so that's expected. However the physics are also nothing to scoff at and that's from the hardware.

Also CDProject is not a developer who's credibility should be questioned. They now what they are doing more so than it seems a lot of other devs. Witcher 2 is one of the most jaw dropping games I've ever played (I can't speak for the 360 version I've only played it on PC) and not only does it look amazing it is also optimized very well (something it seems a lot of devs have trouble with).

XNA is something that I think was a lost opportunity. Sure you may have forgotten it but all of those XBL indy games were made using it so it's not something one could say wasn't used. XNA was just introduced too late, at first it didn't have enough features for a large game and most devs already had formed their own engines for the console so they had not need for it. Another thing that people didn't like about it was that it used C# which was still fairly new at the time and lacks some features people wanted, however C# 5.0 is my favorite programming language because its almost as low level as C++ but has aspects of Java that devs enjoy however it is for microsoft OS's only.

I've used XNA and it is quite a powerful tool and the big plus for it is that there were no licensing fees for it when you developed on PC and to submit your games to Windows Phone or the 360 it was only $99 (for college students).

The reason why MS has missed out on XNA is because as of now it no longer is being updated so it doesn't work with Windows 8 apps or Xbox one but I have a feeling they'll release XNA 5.0 for XB1 in the near future.

Kinda off topic: I wonder what japanese devs will do with Xbox compute seeing as how Japan already has GB speeds for the same price as in the US. I have a feeling japan we'll be seeing some crazy games from japan soon.

They're also pretty much the only developer claiming that Ps4 is more complicated to develop on than Xbox One.

The article said that both consoles would do this as it has been done in the past. He also indicated he wasnt referring to hardware because that was all already known.

Let's not read something that isn't there. We all know software wise both will work hard to squeeze the Performance out of the consoles. Nothing special b ring said here it was just a nice way to avoid the actual question.

Of course developers will know the hardware better in some time, but don't expect big differences like we saw on PS2 and PS3 in the past. These patforms are x86 and no powerful but exotic Cell.

I read the article and it basically sounds like something everybody knows. No hidden or secret powers. The guy from CD Projekt is just saying over time developers will have a better grasp of the hardware. Which makes sense. The title is very misleading.

What I find funny is they are the first dev's to say the PS4 was complicated to develop on and the XBO was simple. Go figure.

Good for you. Again, i criticize/dislike MS, not the games or X1 exclusive developers. But whatever, ill be the one laughing when i own both consoles. People like you need to learn to know the difference between hatred for MS and love for MS exclusive games, they CAN co exists to me. What does it tell you about me as a gamer if im willing to give hundreds of £ to a company i don't like in order to play their exclusives?
