Super Motherload isn’t for everyone. The game’s inherent repetitiveness may turn off those looking for more excitement, but for those looking to experience a relaxing, addicting game about a rover digging for minerals, this is it. A totally random mood-killing final boss tries to ruin the fun, but everything before it is retro-inspired romp worth undertaking even if nothing about it is specifically outstanding.
Your PS Plus games for August are Just Cause 3 and Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry.
Already have both.
Edit: somebody disagrees that I have both lol. Dummy..

SteamFirst: XGen Studios’ Super Motherload is a bit of an odd duck. Released to Steam November 13th of last year, it strikes one as an original concept that feels familiar as soon as you start playing. It seems like a combination of Dig Dug without the enemies and a bit of RPG elements thrown in. Seeing how Dig Dug is one of my favorite old school games, it’s odd that this did not strike the right chord with me.

I, CCG reviewer Wesley Wood, have never played the game Motherload, which is the predecessor to this. However, this is an arcade game so it isn't as if you are missing anything by jumping to the newer game. Super Motherload has been available on the PS4 since launch but, since I did not get a PS4 until January, I overlooked the game until now.
Very fair review. I love the music and the feel of this game. Lot's of fun with a friend or two and works very well with remote play.
