VGA's is around the corner!

crxss4572d ago

Only a few more weeks till the VGX reveal!

I_am_Batman4572d ago

If Mocap just begun I doubt that we'll see a trailer at VGA's.

BlakHavoc4572d ago

I highly doubt a VGX reveal of any kind, we likely won't see a lot more of UC until E3. I do expect more info about the game, and maybe even some concept art from now till then.

Omar914572d ago

@I_am_Batman: good point. It would just seem odd that they wouldn't because all of the reveals for uncharted have been at vga's.

MRMagoo1234572d ago

OOOH MAAAAAA GLOB! hype meter is full for the next ND game.

calis4571d ago

"Only a few more weeks till the VGX reveal!"

Is there officially an Uncharted reveal coming at VGX?

Kyanu4571d ago

@I_am_Batman:
I agree! Besides, they said that we won't hear from Uncharted for a long time, now that they announced it.

Destrania4572d ago

MoneyMeng4572d ago

Cant wait for the multiplayer!!!

-Foxtrot4572d ago

If it's more like Uncharted 2 then Uncharted 3...then yes me aswell

king_george4572d ago (Edited 4572d ago )

Idk im actually one of the people that got extremely hooked on uncharted 3 multiplayer. I still play it daily haha. The only thing that really bothers me is a few bugs here and there but ive probably clocked in hundreds of hours on U3 if not thousands lol. And for those that keep playing it even today, you know how good naughty dog are with fixing their bugs and keeping things relatively balanced through patches. They are just great with their online community. Dragon sniper ftw :)

@Below

Really good points and as a gamer i can definitely see where ur coming from and how u ended up being a little frustrated. I for one thought the initial maps in u3 were definitely not as good as the ones in u2 but i dont think that among theives did everything better than drakes deception. One example is the situational awarness perk. It was the single most annoying and overpowered perk i have ever encountered in a multiplayer game. It was borderline cheating in my opinion and im so glad they took it out in Uncharted 3. Also, the buddy system added in the last game was a really awesome touch. Uncharted 3 might not have been perfect but the important thing is that it is fun and continues to get updates 2 years after its release which shows the cult following that the game has earned. But yeah i agree on the classic mode. That should be made a priority in the next game for people who liked uncharted 2 more. I'll stick to the newer version tho :) thats the beauty of games, everyone has different tastes

-Foxtrot4572d ago (Edited 4572d ago )

I couldn't get into it....I thought they ruined it compared to how smooth and simple Uncharted 2 seemed.

First they said they did all the gimmicks like every other multiplayer game these days because they wanted to take on the big boys....then after release they said they would never be able to do that because they are not multiplatform.

They made it more about what unlocks you had instead of skill.

They added kickbacks, upgradable boosters, weapon mods, loadouts and paid boosters. It just didn't fit well with Uncharted. The best thing which came out of the online was the customization. Also I felt at times the maps were not as good as Uncharted 2s.

Loadouts should of never been in it, it's more balanced if everyone finds their weapons on the map...HOWEVER ND should randomize the weapons inn this game so things like the shotgun and the rocket launcher arn't in the same place. I mean I didn't even think loadouts belonged in Last of Us, a game about scavenging and survival, you should of found them on the map.

I wouldn't mind though if the only loadouts you can select is the type of sidearm you have. Pistol (Balanced), Magnum (Slow reload, less rounds, higher power) or Shorty (Higher power, less accuracy, less ammo, less rounds).

Kickbacks, just made things annoying at times and too much stuff felt like it was going on. Nobody used cover as much because most of the time they would have kickbacks.

Weapon mods made things unbalanced and made it more about "My weapon is better then your weapon" instead of "My skill is better then your skill". They should just not be in at all

If ND want to add these fine but they need to be another mode and the Classic mode should be put first....and I mean a proper classic mode like Uncharted 2 but more improved. With a classic mode though, a one better then Uncharted 3s since that classic mode didn't feel that classic to me, they would have to have a Plunder and Elimination classic mode aswell.

I felt like I could go on U2 for hours but U3 I could only go on it for an hour or so

We have these kind of gimmicks in every online these days, I hope they make U4 different.

Less is more

El_Assenso4572d ago

Uncharted 2's muiltiplayer pre the 1.05 update was the best online multiplayer mode I have ever played. It was based purely on skill.

Everyone started with the same weapons, no loadouts no kickbacks. There were 2 or so power weapons like the RPG or shot-gun scattered in and around the maps. It was more about tactical play, where you had time to take cover, regroup and make your killer move.

Uncharted 3's multiplayer during the beta phase played a lot like Unhcarted 2's but then they changed a lot of things for release.

I hope Naughty Dog return to the multiplayer mode and style we saw in Uncharted 2 which was perfection.

SaffronCurse4572d ago

UC2's mp was spot on, I used to play for hours on end...Especially the coop. It was super fun. I still enjoy U3's mp quite abit, However I still wished they offered the 'barebones' style that was U2's with more maps and game modes.

PSNrandom154571d ago

I liked both i reached lvl 80 legit with 100.000 kills 100th on kills leaderboard and on uc3 i reached max level with 20.000 kills only because i had a team on Fraggednation and GB and didnt really play publics that much.

when I first played the UC3's MP 2 years ago I felt overwhelmed by so much customization and dropped it instantly. But after they gave all the Maps for free I gave it a second chance and I was blown away.

Now I feel bad for not playing it more back in the day when there were more people playing. But still, I've been playing it religiously everyday ever since the free Maps for at least 4 hours because it's that good. The MP's might not very casual friendly like UC2's but once you understand the system (it'll take some time) you'll love it. The only issue now is that most players are from EU and South America and me being from NA... That's some serious lag guaranteed.

king_george4572d ago

Omg thank you its so hard to find english speakers now! Im always like "ummm.... what?" Lol. But yeah this is what i mean. Getting used to the system takes a bit but its soooooo addicting when u get the hang of it. Truly a great multiplayer experience that i havent been able to put down for the last couple years and hopefully they bring back the classic mode in the next game for people like foxtrot up there. Both games are amazing

Ex-Naughty Dog Dev: Big Studios Are 'Forced' to Hire Like Factories

Former Naughty Dog artist Gabriel Betancourt explains why the "sweet spot" for game teams is under 200 people and how AAA "factories" kill creativity.

There’s definitely some truth to this. When teams get too large, coordination starts to outweigh creativity—layers of approval, risk aversion, and tight deadlines can turn bold ideas into “safe” ones. Keeping a team under ~200 people sounds ideal for maintaining clear communication and a shared vision. That said, massive AAA projects also come with huge technical demands and expectations, so scaling up isn’t always avoidable. The real challenge is figuring out how to keep that small-team creativity alive inside big studio structures.

DarXyde42d ago

More than that, it's logistically untenable. Inevitably, when teams get too large, how do you keep tabs on accountability? I suspect this massive team size is a consequence of the perfectionism streak Naughty Dog has.

I wish we could have so many people working on something and it turns out great because I'm all for collaboration in spirit - the problem is too many people as part of the larger team and smaller units. Suppose for example that you have too many people in the art department; you will very often come up against fiercely competing visions for how things should look. That competitive vision will cause friction between team members, team doesn't work as a unit, the back and forth can further delay parts that the other departments are waiting for, etc etc.

A 200-person team says, to me, that we need to scale back game development. Even if it means we go back to PS2 era costs and scale, why not? Those games are still great fun, the budgets were in check, and you could literally break the 200-man team into like 10 20-man teams working on different projects.

Neil Druckmann Reveals He’s Working on an Unannounced Game at Naughty Dog

Neil Druckmann, the creative director of The Last of Us, is working on a new, unannounced game at Naughty Dog.

RaidenBlack378d ago

I know they've expertise in third person games.
But given the lack there of in PS catalog, I'd want the other project to be a narrative first person ND game.
Look, there are lots of 3rd person Sony games in variety of flavors. And ND is already doing intergalactic. And since they're pretty expert at gameplay and tech wise in whatever they do, they can easily venture a new genre and ship a first person game/shooter.

VenomUK378d ago

Hopefully the lead character is a boss babe who will challenge the patriarchy.

RaidenBlack378d ago

So, judging from the dislikes, hardcore Sony fans here don't like first person games, anymore?

arkard378d ago

Let naughty dog do what they are great at, 3rd person games

crazyCoconuts377d ago

I don't really have a big opinion on first vs third person perspective. That's one of the least important things to me when rating how much I like a game

Flewid638377d ago

Sounds horrible. The downvotes are right on this one.

badz149377d ago

I actually hate 1st person. very hard to associate with a character you only see their hands most of the time.

OtterX378d ago

funny thing is with failures like Concord and soon to be Marathon, Factions could have been Sony's guaranteed huge success with a shooter! I don't ever play online shooters anymore, but I would have come out of shooter retirement for a new Factions game.

RaidenBlack377d ago (Edited 377d ago )

{ coming from the above thread }
So PS Fellas hate first person games now? (Understandable)
But praise Killzone and Resistance series, as well?
And hope for a return of first party first person games? ~ but from where? insomniac is deep in marvel territory, guerilla is deep in aloy territory ... suckerP are not as big to undertake that change + dedicated to Ghost series
The only options are ND and Santa Monica, who are rumoured to be involved in parallel projects. ~ so take your pick.
And the other 'new' studios at Sony are not that hot right now with knee deep in live service fiasco

darthv72378d ago

...Way of the Warrior 2: Electric Boogaloo

Amplitude378d ago

It’d be cool if they bought the Parappa licence and made Parappa 3 that’d be the real good timeline

Lightning77378d ago

Wait I thought they cancelled a game? Or did they announce another project?

https://wccftech.com/naught...

pwnmaster3000378d ago (Edited 378d ago )

I’m assuming it’s the unannounced game in the title you posted.

“Naughty Dog Reportedly Canceled a Single Player Game This Year, But Another Unannounced Game Is Still in the Works“

Lightning77378d ago

OK I gotcha. That makes sense.

jznrpg378d ago

Devs cancel games all the time early stages if it doesn’t turn out the way they envisioned it. We just don’t hear about every one of them.

Notellin377d ago

Yeah only a narcissist like Druckmann would announce a game this early that has a 99% chance of being cancelled.

badz149377d ago

so a 2028 release at the soonest

Lightning77377d ago (Edited 377d ago )

Some speculate it could be Uncharted spin off. It's already 3 years in production so yeah 2028 maybe 2027 at the absolute earliest but most likely 28 release.

Also to add. kojimas next game that's not OD is said to be 5 to 6 years out for PS. That metal gear inspired game. These games are just too far off it seems.

pwnmaster3000378d ago

This dude is busy.
So who is running intergalactic?

Knushwood Butt378d ago

'We have several directors on Intergalactic. I work with two game directors: Matthew Gallant and Kurt Margenau, [and] I have a co-writer in Clair Carré.'

pwnmaster3000377d ago (Edited 377d ago )

Okay you got me, I skimmed the article and video .
Thanks lol

vTuro24378d ago

Cuckmann is going to be Naughty Dog's downfall.

378d ago
itBourne377d ago

Going to be? The damage is already done lol.

Flewid638377d ago

Sunlight is good for you, I promise. lol

vTuro24377d ago

Damage has been done but it's not too late yet if they dump him now. Probably won't happen though. It's sad, honestly. We'll see what happens after Intergalactic. That game is going to have a huge impact one way or another.

StormSnooper377d ago (Edited 377d ago )

Yes because they didn’t make some of the greatest games. Right, we all just agree to live in your fantasy from now on.

Flewid638377d ago

yall say that about ever developer and then they end up becoming more successful lol

mkis007377d ago

Downfall? If anything he is a huge reason they are on the map! A few apes don't like the material hasn't stopped his games from being massive hits.

DarXyde377d ago

I have grievances with Druckmann, but he does deserve some benefit of the doubt. He's been in crucial roles at the company through all of their successes.

Maybe wait and see?
