Survivor 2299 – Could it be Fallout 4?

TechRaptor - I’m (Henry Wilson) sure all you die hard FO fans out there have checked out the new thesurvivor2299.com website over the past week. For those who haven’t, the general buzz is around the fact that recently a patent was filed for “Fallout 4″ and a potentially Fallout related website was launched (see thesurvivor2299.com). The page contains a logo, a timer counting down to 11.12.13, and a morse code pattern which translates to “11.12.13″ (now the morse code translates to: Calling any station, calling any station, calling any station, this is/from Oscar Zulu Please Stand by)

Ignoring all the arguments for and against it (which lead me to believe it's not linked), I would say that it's not, just based on the fact that the website has "6days" instead of 6 days. A company as large as Zenimax wouldn't make a mistake like that.

You'd be suprised some typos you'll see from big companies! (Not just game dev, of course). It could also have something to do with the game itself, but only time will tell.

I know you can get typos from big companies but the fact that it's still there after a number of hours suggests that it's not legit. A company would not let a typo stay on its only teaser page that long. One sad person sitting behind their computer probably would though.

A quick WhoIs lookup of the site "thesurvivor2299.com" ; shows that ZeniMax Media LLC is the company that purchased the domain. I'd say it's legit and the typo may actually be part of the reveal. Could also just be a typo/coding error that no one has mentioned to them.

Personally I think its real, with an announcement trailer at the VGX award show 12/7/13. Then I think the official Fallout 4 website will be launched 12/11/13. But on the other hand I wouldnt be disappointed if its not official. If Fallout 4 is not announced this year I interpret that as more development time for the game. Bethesda usually announce their games 6 months to a year before it releases. So the longer they wait to announce the more time the game gets. But next holiday will be 3+ years of development which is more then fallout 3 saw.

If this is a new Fallout game...PLEASE, oh PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can we have a new engine built from scratch. The recent engine is absolutely dated and terrible.

That is exactly what I think every time I see anything about Fallout 4. They seriously NEED to drop that ancient engine, and just build from scratch. Will be very upset if it's just updated creation engine.

I think it may be legit. The reason is that everytime there has been Fallout4 rumors, Bethesda has been quick to say "No" or "This has nothing to do with a future Fallout title"... Basically normally they are straight forward to say no.

Also I think about the fact that this would be about the time Bethesda announces their titles along with the hiring then been doing.

Stack that with the fact that Bethesda main games are Elder Scrolls and Fallout. Plus next gen consoles are capable of more. Along with the fact that we've gotten a few teases from the voice of ThreeDog and Bethesda silence lately. And the amount of traffic the website is getting would make it a fairly expensive website to maintain. I think this may be legit. And if the website is fake I think Bethesda will still be announcing something within a year conserving fallout

Several people have suggested that NCRA means National Catastrophe Relief Auxilliary. To quote /u/Mr_Milenko's comment:

The stage 7 probably refers to Level 7 on International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale (INES) see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
Taking these things into account, the message is probably telling us that the cities mentioned have been hit by nukes (the stage 7 event). In the message, it says LAS VEGAS UNKNOWN, probably due to Mr. House's efforts to defend Las Vegas.
At the end of the message, the name Boston is cut off, arguably indicating that Boston got hit by a nuke at this exact point in the message.
The audiofile is called longfellow-52939ac559777.mp3. Longfellow might refer to several things. For example, there is a Longfellow Bridge in Boston, connecting Boston to Cambridge (where the Institute is situated). The bridge, in turn, is named after Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, a poet who died in Cambridge, Massachusetts (Here's a picture /u/volx1337 posted that shows the locations of the bridge and the Institute).
I believe that all the messages on the website are describing events prior to the war, and events happening during the war, as I explain in this comment. I think the newest update really reinforces this idea, as this message describes several cities being hit, and then Boston being hit. This fits well with yesterdays update, when the translated message stated Bridgeport, this is Concord (MA), message: Quabbin Reservoir is hit, repeat, Quabbin Reservoir is hit.
Maybe the messages are supposed to be in real-time from the Great War, but it could also be the case that the messages are recovered after the War.

What is Fallout 4 starts right as the bombs fall with you and everyone else scrambling to to get in the vault where you are put in suspended animation (frozen) along with others. They die, you survive. You are the survivor. Remember how Fallout 3 started with you as a kid ? Maybe this game has some gameplay before the bombs fall, before you are released into the wasteland. Just a thought...
How awesome would it be if, in Fallout 4, you kind of see yourself getting born just as in Fallout 3. Then at a few points, the game fast forwards a few years, showing you shreds of your life in the society just before the Great War. Suddenly, the air-raid sirens start to blare, and you and your family rush to the nearest Vault, where you are put in suspended animation, and when you wake up in 2299, you're the only survivor in the Vault!"
