Just seems very improbable that ALL the news about the PS3 problems would be completely fabricated. Too much smoke everywhere - maybe from overheating PS3s - d'oh...;), there is probably SOME fire behind these reports. The key question is just how much.

Personally, I would bet that about 25% of the negative reports have real validity and the other 75% are bunk, but even at that ratio there is aa lot of questions about PS3 being ready on time and that says nothing about the reliability of those release units. Even the hardest core Sony supporter should be at the very least nervous about investing in a launch unit at this time.

PS3 fanboys are gaystation butt-boys. While we are playing next gen, they are playing with their best friends balls. I think half of this article will be true. I don't believe the cell will be down-graded, but I do believe the GPU is a piece of gaystation dung. PC GPU's have already surpassed the one in the PS3, can't say the same for the 360. With the 10mb of edram you get plenty of eye candy with free anti-aliasing at 4X.

One second Sony are building a broken PS3, the next second they are building a PS2.5. Who do you believe?, the GUY on the plane or the PHANTOM. Maybe you could believe an XBOX 360 owner who won't admit he's WRONG. Or a Wii fan that wants Mario to rule the world! The fact is you'll believe anything you want to believe. For a while there I thought PS3 was gonna be great, i wasnt looking forward to buying a 650 dollar system, but i would have cause it looked amasing and i didnt mind a few games. But now that all this sh!t is coming up about it, I might as well just get a 40" LCD HDTV, hook it up to my 360, and by the end of next year, be playing HALO 3 in HIGH-DEF. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

why even get blu-ray if not all the movie studios are making movies on it. If you buy a ps3 for the blu-ray and HD-DVD wins, then that person is going to be f@cked. So actually there is no reason to buy ps3 for this reason alone. lol Especially if the HDCP till 2012 deal doesnt work out and none of the blu-ray players work on your tvs.

I dont wanna believe this because, we need sony to come through to push MS to get better!!but the reason I do believe this is because before sony released the psp it was supposed to run at 300+ mhz, but right after it launched ,we all found out that it ran only at 222mhz, but there reason for that was, so it didnt consume as much battery, so it wouldnt suprise me if they did!!but if they do, wont that be a BIG KICK in the BALLS for you hardcore sony fans!!lol)muhahaha!!

post something useful. even if the news above doles out sh!t, at least talk about how sony is milking out the cows using their downgraded cell processor( but later on found that it wasn't even good for that!!) and then used the RSX to emulate the accurate texture of the milk but found that the texture was highly corrupted due to the irregularities in the programming of the cell and the rsx. And in the end, the ps3 overheats and instead of getting the milk, cooks the cow, making it all ready for a grand fiesta of roasted beef!!!!! three cheers to 360( sorry i'll pay my respects, its 3shitty!!)

I think this article is like many other "leaked information" type articles on the PS3: overblown speculation based on some small kernal of fact. But, there have been so many of these type of articles lately, that added together, they make me a little afraid. I have a 360, and would/will get a PS3 if the hardware, blu-ray, and available EXCLUSIVE games warrant it. So here is my fear-- if the PS3 does end-up underperforming, instead of games looking virtually the same on PS3 and 360, we will get the same kind of problems we have now-- cross platform games developed primarily on one system will run crappy/look crappy on the other. This should matter TO ALL GAMERS because in the next generation, there will be a lot fewer exclusives. Many, many publishers have stated that with the high cost of next-gen development, they have to make games for both systems to stand any chance of making a profit. So games will be made primarily on one system, then ported over to the other. Since the 360 is already out, many game designers are planning to make/design a game on 360, then release the PS3 version. Games already out, like Fight Night Round 3, and games being made right now (Assassin's Creed, anyone?). We all know how some games originally designed on Xbox look when ported down to the PS2 (Psychonaughts, for example), and how PS2 designed games don't stack up to Xbox exclusives. This turn of event could hurt ALL OF US who love and play games. Please, Sony, quit fu@#ing up! Deliver what you promised, on time, and no more lies or unfounded hype! Show us more actual gameplay footage running on REAL PS3 production units! It is the only way you will squash these rumors!

all I have to say is that there are definately problems and obstacles with the PS3. There should be too, a different processor and the first ever in production has to have deep problems with actual yield and overheating. Not to mention they've said their ps3 case is dramatically small for all the hardware promised. They've actually changed the shape a bit by widening it I think.

That's just how I see it. The final power behind the ps3 wont' be known for months so don't get your panties in a bunch. Just wait, the clincher will be whether they downgrade or delay to live up to barely reach their hype they made. But something has to be done fast with the hardware or it's another delay.

im my opinion sony never thought that ms could made the x360 so powerfull and in time.sony thought "it will be a xbox 1.5 with better graphics and a litle bit of sound".Then when they release the specs for the x360 sony said " damn they got a better machine than we expected, we have to power up our machine to stand a chance".in a hurry to make ps3 better than x360 they start to power up the ps3 and the problems start because in my opinion they never planed to make ps3 so powerfull and start to push the hardware to a limite they never intend. xbox 360 were planed in the begining to be has it be.
i hope sony make ps3 a good machine because we need some competition and competition its good for comsumers but they need to be more fair and not to hype their machines behond the resanoble .they should lie less and be more arrogant .

ps2: pixar movies like graphics, i haven´t see anything from ps2 near that in fact most part of ps2 games have poor graphics.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
