Contrast has been receiving middling scores, but I'm having a lot of fun with this game. I like how people only exist as shadows in the world. I also love the setting. 1920's is a cool era that rarely makes it into video games.
I downloaded it because it was one of the free PSN+ games. I thought it seemed weird when starting out, but after a few minutes, I realized there was more to this than meets the eye. It's still rather bizarre, but sometimes it's good to get out of your same old routine and play something totally off the wall.
This one also seems like it will challenge you to think while playing. I'm going to put it on the back burner for now and come back and try it later on when I've finished some of the other games.
It has a very interesting concept & the game is pretty fun. The only down side is that it is VERY short. Speed runners can probably finish it in a few hours while regular folks can look to about 4 hrs to 5 hrs to find all the secrets.
The shadow puzzle platforming is cool. The character designs are so film noir, while the story is short & sweet. I think the bad scores come from the game being not really worth the asking price as well as some glitches here & there. For PS+ owners it is a good pick up.
