Karam Elahi from SpawnFirst reports: "If you’re anything like me, you’re probably having a lot of trouble with the Kinect understanding your commands. Now don’t get me wrong, most of what I ask of the Xbox One, it executes my requests amazingly well. But what about the occasional instance where I forget what exact command to use?"

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Xbox boss Asha Sharma has discussed how component shortages will impact the company's plans for Project Helix.
This kind of proves this is an after thought product, most products like this are in r&d 5 years before they start mass producing. So they typically have the cost of components and things worked out long before assembly starts.
This is an assumption still, but I wouldn’t be surprised if project helix is similar to Scalebound, perfect dark and sod3. They had an idea but no actual execution other than concept stage. Being impacted by the ram shortage likely would also put this device 3-4 years out.
I’m not even sure MS has that endurance with Xbox yet
Helix is going to be stupidly expensive
Instead of leaning into smarter upscaling techniques they're brute forcing hardware that will cost them dearly and it remains to be seen if it's genuinely going to provide a meaningful differential
I know in the oc.doace people like to brag about not using frame gen or dlss to get to high on a game but for the majority of players they happily use those technologies without a second thought
That's going to be ps6 vs Helix
It's called systematic inflationary. Yes we get it Microsoft, keep raising in the name ofall kinds of stuffs
Honestly if there was thing I learned from this generation is that new consoles arnt day one anymore.
I can wait 1-3 years.

In an exclusive interview with Game File, new(ish) Xbox boss Asha Sharma and Xbox chief content officer Matt Booty explain their vision for Microsoft’s gaming division
A good start would be to release games to go with the console. My Xbox Series X has gathered dust virtually from launch. My advice would be to ditch a next console and release games on PC, PlayStation and Switch. Another idea would be a hybrid console based on Xbox Series X tech and go the same route as Nintendo. Another idea would be to pull out of gaming altogether. Plenty of options there.
Hmmmm imho, intuitive voice commands shouldn't need a 4 week training course to learn how to use properly (i know that is an exaggeration) , I have tried the voice commands out now and i have to say, using them on PS4 or Xbone, i feel like a complete and utter twat, its like playing Simon says with the console "Xbox go to dr3" "Xbox go to internet explorer" "PlayStation kill zone" ...............in the time it takes me to say it,even if it works fist try, which is usually doesn't, i could have done the same thing 5 or 6 times on the controller.
That is about all i can say about voice control on the new consoles, i may change my mind IF they manage to make it a lot more accurate, but even still saying "Xbox" or "PlayStation" before anything is just annoying.
Those work AWESOME!!! Im loving my XBOX ONE!!!
Sometimes less is more. Kudos for trying to make everything voice controlled, but if you need to memorize a lot of commands it`s less user friendly. In their attempt to make the Kinect the main controller for OS navigation they went a bit overboard.
I can see most people only using a few basic commands and do the rest with the controller. From the videos shown it still has a higher rate of not recognizing the commands and for something that is supposed to replace the controller it needs to work 100% and not only 80% of the time.
Voice commands suck my butt so far. "Xbox home" always pulls up Xbox help and "play movie, play forza, play game" and play always takes me to music? I'll stick to the trusty game pad for now
Now that I'm using this it would be nice is Microsoft did add a MIC to the controller..most of the time when the voice does not detect its either your talking too soft or the TV is too loud...
I did an experiment by talking directly in front of the Kinect and it worked 95% of the time..
I will try to re-calibrate but turn my YV volume much higher when it says to do so.
"The Red Dragon" on youtube has that sh!t down packed..take a look.
