Xbox 360 'RRoD' Problem Streamlined

Xbox Evolved reports: "Microsoft support now gives you a 3-5 business day timeline to receive your shipping box, typically receiving it by the third day depending on where you are in the United States. Originally and as late as January of this year, the process took 5-10 business days at least. Now, Microsoft gives you an actual timeframe of when you will get the Xbox 360 back from repairs also, admits they may have to completely replace the unit, and even mention that if there is any "special markings" on the outside of your Xbox 360 to protect it with a cover or notify support first."

Thank god they caught up...considering how streamlined the breaking process was.

Bathyj6580d ago

Ha, Man thats cold.
At least they're tackling the issue now. Not of stopping them breaking, but getting you cardboard box really quickly when it does. What I dont get is why they just dont put an unassembled box in with your Xbox when you buy it, sorta like the first ones on us. Or at the very least have every Walmart and EB Games stock XB Coffins so anyone can walk in off the street and just grab one.

Breakfast6580d ago

that would be awesome if they did what you said...but, im not too sure how selling coffins at a walmart would turn out...

RecSpec6580d ago

Why not? Everyone who works there is dead inside anyways.

I worked there for a year, I would know.

Breakfast6580d ago (Edited 6580d ago )

The smartest thing Microsoft could do at this point is make Xbox Live free.

being out for years now that the price of actually making one has significantly reduced. It would almost seem more beneficial for Microsoft to just send consumers a new one instead of paying someone to fix it.

Chances are they have to replace the motherboard if it warps or cracks anyways. Same goes for the GPU if it damaged by heat. They could waste time and money disasembling one and it cant be fixed.

It would most likely lead to more customer appreciation because of the prompt turnaround time. Perhaps that is what they are doing because the redesign has taken effect, which has led to less hardware failure.

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
