being out for years now that the price of actually making one has significantly reduced. It would almost seem more beneficial for Microsoft to just send consumers a new one instead of paying someone to fix it.
Chances are they have to replace the motherboard if it warps or cracks anyways. Same goes for the GPU if it damaged by heat. They could waste time and money disasembling one and it cant be fixed.
It would most likely lead to more customer appreciation because of the prompt turnaround time. Perhaps that is what they are doing because the redesign has taken effect, which has led to less hardware failure.
