Five games that need the Oculus Rift

Stick Skills writes: "A couple weeks back, I had the chance to check out the Oculus Rift for the first time. If you’re unfamiliar with the technology, it’s a virtual reality headset with 3D video, full motion head tracking, and soon it will be in HD. In some form or another, technology has shown up like this, but never has it impressed so many people in the gaming industry and general public. While I went in skeptical, I left a believer. Here’s a list of five games that absolutely need to have Oculus Rift support in the future."

VR should become a standard for next-gen racing games. Imagine the immersion... cockpit view, coupled with a wheel.

It needs to happen.

Pandamobile4567d ago

It's not standard yet, but it's already happened. Project Cars among others already have Rift support.

After hearing sony and steam have their own VR devices I kind of think oculus may get beaten to market I wonder if it will be a flood of these type of things coming.

GeraltofRivia4567d ago

Being that Sony is basically a re-branded 6 year old gaming pc it will probably have trouble processing a good VR device with 3D effects. All the "next gen" hype and marketing stating the PS4 can run 4k video (not games as of now) leads me to think it is not powerful enough to produce good sterescopic/ and or other type of convincing virtual reality gaming. Only time will tell I guess. With Steam being PC based , if Valve made a VR device the different models or unit they make could easily have a wide range of capabilities

forgot to mention that if the Occulus Rift starts off being PC based it will probably be as good or better then any console based VR solution.

Thank you for mentioning these games. I've just crossed them out of my wish list.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit22d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing22d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9222d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
