
The videogame console manufacturers have painted a rosy picture of the benefits of cloud capability in gaming, but they have failed to mention the risks. On the “pro” side, cloud-based gaming consoles like the PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One and the Wii U have some amazing features: the ability to play from multiple consoles and devices, more data storage, seamless play and instant access to new games. Plus, there’s no need to download large updates. However, cloud-based gaming may not be as secure as you think.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

How are those consoles "cloud-based" if you can play offline? Overusing the term "based" much?
