TakuChat.com goes into detail and speculates on the newly released Uncharted trailer for the PS4.
Former Naughty Dog artist Gabriel Betancourt explains why the "sweet spot" for game teams is under 200 people and how AAA "factories" kill creativity.
There’s definitely some truth to this. When teams get too large, coordination starts to outweigh creativity—layers of approval, risk aversion, and tight deadlines can turn bold ideas into “safe” ones. Keeping a team under ~200 people sounds ideal for maintaining clear communication and a shared vision. That said, massive AAA projects also come with huge technical demands and expectations, so scaling up isn’t always avoidable. The real challenge is figuring out how to keep that small-team creativity alive inside big studio structures.

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) is proud to announce that Evan Wells, former Co-President of Naughty Dog and one of the most respected studio leaders in modern game development, will be honored with a prestigious Hall of Fame Award. Wells’ induction will take place at the 29th annual D.I.C.E. Awards on February 12, 2026, at the Aria Resort in Las Vegas. Neil Druckmann, a longtime collaborator from Naughty Dog, will present Wells with his Hall of Fame Award live at the ceremony.
Neil Druckmann, the creative director of The Last of Us, is working on a new, unannounced game at Naughty Dog.
Wait I thought they cancelled a game? Or did they announce another project?

Good analysis
Nice write up. Interesting speculation.
The next gen has arrived and it's very exciting to think what Sony's first parties are cooking up for the PS4. I'm really waiting to be stunned. I had a launch console on preorder, but canceled in part due to the delay of Watch_Dogs and DriveClub. My other concern was waiting to see what issues the launch units would have and buy a unit when the early teething problems subsided. I'm now looking at picking up the Infamous Second Son PS4 bundle on 3/21/14 when that game launches. I'm missing Killzone and Resogun, but I'm going to wait. Ground Zeroes in the spring. Destiny will be right around the corner at that point (hopefully), I'm not sure what's going on with Watch_Dogs as apparently it's not due for release til next October now? Curious considering we saw gameplay of Watch_Dogs at E3 2012. Very curious. Anyway, after that comes The Witcher 3, The Division, Phantom Pain, The Order:1886. I'm ready for those.
