Indeed, why? As PS4 launch games are being reviewed one-by-one with scores that dare we say as mediocre to decent, it has been a speculation as to why don't launch game be better than it should have been in the trailers or previews. This article delves on the different factors that affect launch game quality including risk management and time constraints. It seems that we should commend early adopters in taking such a risk once in a while.

Steam page update reveals new technical features for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, hinting at a possible remake.
Fingers crossed, does seem like it's almost guaranteed, just wish they'd announce it already, seems like we've been hearing about it forever, I just want be some black flag! 😂
I'll only pick it up if Ubisoft gets rid of the internet requirement to install a physical disc. Release the game complete
This seems to be referring to updates to the current steam version. If a remake does get announced it will absolutely be sold separately

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag voice actor Matt Ryan has hinted at the possibility of the game receiving a remake.
Love that we just keep replaying games. Next-gen comes along we’ll get Assassin’s Creed Remake REMAKE…
People say they like the old style AC games yet when they made one nobody bought it. I prefer the RPG style AC games better personally so I’ll Skip Black Flag. Never understood why it’s so highly regarded in the first place.
Love(d) AC 4. Been replaying it recently, actually. Idk what their price will be for this release, but I can't see spending anything close to full price for it. Maybe years from now when I feel like another playthrough.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake looks to be all but confirmed, with some first official details being shared online.
Black Flags is great and all but they really should have remade the first game.
Like I said Black Flags is a fantastic pirate game but it's where, for me anyway, it started to drift away from it's Assassin roots and felt like a new IP they were too scared to do without something attached. It's funny because they could have called this Skull and Bones back then or just "Black Flags and it would have done well enough to start a new IP for them. Sometimes I felt Black Flags was held back in some places because it was attached to AC lore, if it was a new IP it would have been fun to continue Edwards adventures in multiple games as he was a really good characters.
I like Black Flag but I also liked Rogue too bad it's not a two for one deal.
Wish they remade ACII before Black Flag ... or even re-imagined AC1
I never put anywhere near enough into Black Flag when it first launched.
Looking forward to giving it another go when the remake launches.
Because most developers still have the mentality, tools and routine of creating games for the previous Gen.
In other cases games are rushed to meet launch dates and in others they are paid to just create something, anything that can be attached to a systems line up of games because they know competition will be less limited at the start of a consoles life and the user base will be less fractured.
Imo is not that they suck but that we are going in to the nex gen with huge expecations and really high standards especially after coming from an amazing genreation with the ps3 and xbox.
It's crazy really. I am enjoying every Next Gen game I own. I have no complaints. I guess its all subjective though
Because companies are more concerned with getting you to buy their hardware. All they need is two or three real games to convince people to drop the cash. The games that people will be playing are largely an afterthought. Also, dat holiday season.
Dreamcast had a killer launch lineup.
