For some, its been long wait for Pandora's release, for others, you're wondering what we're talking about.
Pandora is a 4X turn based strategy game set on a planetary scale. Many would consider it's closet comparison Alpha Centauri, a civilization based game on another world, developed by the one and only Sid Meier's.

SteamFirst: Pandora: First Contact is an amazing turn based strategy game by the great minds at Proxy Studios. The game takes the familiar base mechanics of Civilization games and adds the sci-fi twist that we’ve all been yearning for.

Chalgyr's Game Room writes:
Anyone who has played a Civilization title, especially Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, should feel right at home with Pandora: First Contact. The premise is basic enough, but still holds true to the themes established by Civilization games over the years. Explore a new world, research and improve your populace and attempt to ferret out opposing factions using diplomacy, science or military might. All in all, Pandora: First Contact is a solid if unspectacular title that is a visual upgrade over the much older Alpha Centurai, but does not quite deliver as much depth as I would have liked.

Jack writes - "Pandora First Contact is a 4x turn-based Sci Fi strategy simulator developed by Proxy Studios and published by Slitherine LTD. Proxy are a relatively new developer, only recently being founded back in 2009 and having one other title called Conquest: Divide and Conquer. This is very similar to Pandora, sharing a similar user interface and multiple game mechanics. Slytherine on the other hand have been active since the year 2000 boasting an extensive portfolio featuring a majority of relatively unknown war games covering several eras and famous battles. As Pandora has recently appeared on Steam, will it be enough to project both companies in a positive light?"
awesome
I've never heard of this.
