Will Persona 5 Bring Back JRPG's?

Persona itself was always on a more developed level than the regular JRPG. Gave you a largely linear world, but offered tons of mystery which demanded exploration. Had interaction with monsters as well as NPCs.

Persona is way different than typical JRPGs...so I'm going to say no. I'm a fan of the series but it's a niche in a niche genre.

I wouldn't say JRPG's are a niche genre, but a sub-genre. There are JRPG's the push millions of copies (FF series, Pokemon, Dark Souls [depending on how you look at it]). But yea, the way Persona games work are pretty niche. So no, it wont save anything (although there's nothing to save).

It's how I see it in the western market. When was the last time we seen the games like Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Suikendon series, etc. They just get swamped by Western RPGs. Nothing like these have topped charts in years.
