JRPG's never went anywhere.....whinny gamers are afraid of change and refuse to play anything out of their comfort zone. Hell a lot of people now who 'Love' Persona 4 have never even played 1,2or3 or any of the other SMT games and have no clue what you're talking about when you mention them.

When will persona 5 come out exactly? It's becoming the half life 3 of jrpgs. We always hear how some domain for the game has opened up and we never see anything of it.

Final Fantasy 15, Monolith Soft's X,and Persona 5 could do it.

Ni No Kuni, Tales of Xillia, hell even Pier Solar. These past two years have been plentiful for the genre imho.

Don't you western journalist got tired questioning the same crap with Ni no Kuni, Tales of Graces f, Tales of Xillia, Persona 4 Golden, and other JRPG that got released in the west this past years??????

Oh...one of these threads. People keep saying "where did JRPG's go" well listen buddy, just because FF isn't what it used to be (although FFXIV:ARR is quite fantastic) doesn't mean JRPGs died. Tales of, anyone?

JRPGs may not die "yet" but turn-based JRPGs is dead for good at least on consoles & btw I don't speak for strategy JRPGs so don't bother mention any of those, I don't like playing games on a 4-5'' inch screen where is all the traditional turn-based JRPGs I used to play on the PS1/PS2 era? where is Suikoden series where is Breath of Fire series or Wild Arms or Grandia why no1 care to make a sequel on popular JRPG of past that fans love like Chrono series or Legend of Dragoon or Lunar?

SONY abandon JRPGs, KONAMI CAPCOM & many others also the genre I most love to play the traditional turn-based JRPGs is dead on consoles & this is a fact that no1 can deny, if next generation continue the same trend with going all action with battle system then there is no way to buy a next generation console there is no point for me I get enough disappointment from PS3 already at least PS3 is going to get something I'm interested to play "Trails in the Flash" but I needed to w8 for 7 whole years to get a game I want o play when in the 2 previous generations I had so many options...

As much as i LOVE the Persona franchise I'm guilty in saying it still hasn't left its niche market. Compared to other series like Final Fantasy & Dragon Quest, Persona is not up to that upper echelon of JRPGs yet. Oh how i wish it was though cause it deserves to be.

I have the utmost confidence that whatever the Persona team makes it will be an unforgettable experience. Persona 3 & 4 have a big place in my heart cause it is one of the very few games that i have played that emotionally hit me.

Whatever is shown will be a treat & my body is ready for a new game but my heart may not be able to handle such an announcement.

JRPGs are fine, maybe you're blind. Ni no Kuni is better than the entire Persona series, IMO. You don't have to agree, I don't care.
