"The free-to-play model is booming among established franchises and nowhere is it more evident than on the PC and its strategy titles. Panzer General began way back in 1994 as a strategic turn-based war game that spawned many sequels until today, where a free browser-based version called Panzer General Online is in the works."

Panzer General Online, which was in Closed Beta is now finally an open-for-all Open Beta. Developed by Blue Byte, Panzer General Online is a browser based game.

Ubisoft has just announced that its free-to-play browser game, Panzer General Online, is now in open beta and ready to be played by digital General across the globe. If you need a little convincing first make sure to check out the new screenshots below.

As it stands, Panzer General Online is a fantastic and easily addictive single player game, even if it has the same daily limit features that many Facebook games have, but the micro transactions and unbalanced gameplay has crippled the multiplayer aspect of the game, which should be its strongest feature.
