Not that any of this matters I cant wait to play MGS and I enjoyed Halo. Plus they both looked amazing on my 56" 1080p TV. Most of the people b!tching about this don't even own the rival console and probably have a $hit TV anyway.

on your car driving skills. I love burnout dude but i am also a big car freak and i enjoy the skills it takes to make a car rip around turns. In GT you get to test your skills of driving. In Burnout you test your fast twitch skills. Totaly different game even if its still a racer.

For me burnout was easy. You hit a turn and hit that brake button and what you got was nothing close to realism

now about MGO even if it has 665p and 30 fps it doesn't make much of a difference because its a online game and who cares about the resolution the important thing is weather the game is fun to play and if it looks good.640p and 600p never stopped us from enjoying halo and cod4 both of which are very fun to play and thats what is important

It amazes me that when you buy an HD system they don't have to make the games full HD...I'd feel ripped off if that was part of your purchasing decision. People should care about the game quality though.

I recall very well the halo incident and there were tons of articles dissing the 360 and fanboys saying halo 3 aka gaylo 3/halo 2.5 was the worst game just because it's 640p and a flagship title and anybody who thought it was genuinely fun game was labelled an xbot or microslave, it was overblown into a very huge deal or should I say deal breaker for fanboys(I recall the famous "I will not buy this game or the 360 because I have been shafted by Microsoft with sub-HD") and an excuse for them to have a Microsoft bashfest which apparently gives them hard-ons

And then the cod4 incident, they changed tactics where their excuse was that because it was multiplatform and IW wanted to keep the versions identical, the 360 held things back without bluray and cell, but that no exclusive ps3 game will run below 720p

Funny how, karma comes in and now they switch their modes to it doesn't matter as long as it looks good on the hdtv very well knowing that is the same argument used by 360 gamers and was invalid then but now it has magically become valid and logical

Where the hell do people get 665p? It's not even a standard resolution. Everything in the history of video games and TV has been mod32, (or mod16 for progressive resolutions). Even 1080p isn't 1080 lines, it's 1088 with 8 blank or hidden lines.

And just how do they know how many pixels it runs at when it's being upscaled to whatever resolution anyway?

COD4 was good. Army of Two was good. This will be good. It will be a system seller. I don't count the pixels to enjoy the game. Tetris was ver low resolution and was one of the best games out. This is a great step up from the PS2 versions. I actually still play MGS2 at the moment on my PS3. Better game than many next-gen games. Send me a copy already!

I'm a little dissapointed. For a game this big, I was expecting at least 1080p with 30 FPS.

I am a Metal Gear fan and I can care less about this game not having 1080P 60fps as long as the game is fun...

I guess Microsoft was not 100% wrong when they said 720P will be the resolution most games will use... it seems as games become larger, and more complex developers will have to move away from 1080P and faster FPS... which makes lots of sense since the xbox 360 and the PS3 only have less than 512MB or Memory (not counting OS and memory taken by the console)... duhhh... compare to 2GB+ that games on the PC seem to require...

And for those of you who doesn't understand the numbers, this means the resolution in the game is about 85% of 720p.

The equivalent for an SD PAL tv is:
(720 * (576 / 2) ) / (1280 * 720) = 0,225

22.5% of 720p (the vertical resolution is halved due to SD PAL tv being interlaced). Put it that way and the resolution doesn't seem so bad.

And who cares while the game is good? A rock solid frame rate is more important imo, and the gameplay is awesome.

The beta runs at 2xAA so there are barely any jaggies, despite the lower resolution. Halo 3 ran at 640p, but it had no antialiasing, making it one of the jaggiest XBOX 360 games released at the time (and probably still is).

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Killzone game after Killzone 2 play style would be nice

Motorstorm would be epic with the visual upgrade, maybe this game would be a harder sell with the genre being not as popular nowadays..

Resistance franchise, Motorstorm and Dirt 2 which was fun as heck. Add Dead Space 2 as well.

Sorry bud, but the PS3 generation was amazing and featured the greatest console comeback in history.

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

The PS3 was such a glorious console. The UI, the games, the free online...just incredible.

I would pay good money for a Warhawk remake. Socom too. The last Socom game just didn’t do it justice. Folklore could use a remaster or remake as well.
Several other titles I would like to remade with the amount of visual fidelity the current gen has over the past consoles it could help articulate the games that we’ve loved growing up. I would love even some ps2 titles to remade.. Dark Cloud from ps2, Legacy of Kain series but don’t know what will come of it sense it was bought by Embracer group and all there layoffs.

This strategy is exactly what helped ruin Xbox. Sony more than Microsoft know when to let a franchise go and that is important to keep things fresh. The old games are there if you want to play them.

FF13 is top of this list for me. No matter your opinion on it, it being the only numbered offline FF out of all 16 not to be on new consoles is odd. GTA IV would be great too

The only reason my PS3 is still connected is because of the Resistance, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm games that I still love to play. I am for remaking or remastering them.
