By David: Retro games hold a special place in our heart, and it’s always a pleasure to see a classic game come back from the virtual dead. The latest to rear its head once again is Everyday Spelunker, a game that is actually celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Now, new generations of players can get introduced to the challenges and glory of old school gaming, and older gamers can show the younger ones how we used to do it in our time.

Bellevue, Wash. – December 10, 2013 – Tozai Games announced today that Spelunker®, the fiendishly challenging classic platformer, is now available worldwide on Google Play for Android devices as Everyday Spelunker after its initial debut on iOS.

Though Everyday Spelunker does bring Spelunky to your iPhone, the atrocious controls and never-ending deaths make you wonder why they bothered.

Gamezebo: It feels a bit eerie to be passing judgment on a game that has been on this earth for more years (and is therefore wiser) than myself. Yet this is the situation I find myself in, reviewing a special 30-year anniversary addition of Spelunker, previously available for the Atari, the Commodore 64, and the NES.
