If you played Journey, it's very similar but I would describe it as more relaxing and a bit less "gamey" feeling. It really is a fantastic experience though and the presentation and soundtrack combined with the profound and symbolic message will leave you with spine -tingling moments of euphoria. If you enjoyed Journey or Unfinished Swan the game is a must buy. It's somewhat for a certain type of gamer but I would also argue that it's one of those games that is executed so well that it can take a questionable concept and turn it into something of mass appeal. It's pure art.

Minecraft was indie and it sold for a pretty penny.

I don't think that means what you think it means, Indies are here to stay, they are not all supposed to be to your liking (or any of them for that matter), but to some people they will, they have a market and they sell to that market well, on top of that they are a great avenue for creativity (not all of them), good games will be good games no matter the size.
