Why can't EA get animations & player models right?nothing about Madden 25 looks next gen in that video.

theXtReMe14582d ago (Edited 4582d ago )

I'm not sure what you're looking at, but just the running animations alone look next gen. Not to mention the reactions of players like when he got the stiff arm and Chris Johnson stepping around his lineman, mere inches from their feet. Not to mention the crowd, each doing their own thing. I wish the video was in 1080p, so we could see it clear, but the visuals look fine to me.

NFL 2K We Need You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P0werVR4581d ago

Yeah, don't have any clue what he's on about. I've been playing Madden long enough to now say it has FINALLY arrived. Although I would have said the same thing for NFL 2k earlier if had still existed. Too bad.

Outside_ofthe_Box4581d ago

2K would have had this running and stiff arm animation long ago on current gen.

I wish 2K was able to make NFL games.

WorldGamer4582d ago

I agree with you, tho the at the very end when is foot doesn't clip through his team mates leg was kinda impressive. Overall tho, not really wowing.

bleedsoe9mm4582d ago

they don't have to work hard on their games they have no competition

lsujester4582d ago

The animations do seem a bit better, but yeah their player models are still flat and lifeless. You can tell it's the same garbage system that the new Live is using too.

Rainstorm814582d ago

While i agree the player models dont seem to be that much of an upgrade over current gen....The animations are a big upgrade

Im an avid football fan and madden player and that footwork just isnt in the current gen games

1nsomniac4581d ago (Edited 4581d ago )

Did I watch a completely different video to you lot? It looked amazing!

Between the animation, true-step physics, weight distribution & collision detection - This is truly Next-Gen!

3-4-54581d ago

2k is just a step ahead. Only thing EA had was graphics, but now that 2k gets next gen power they are using it well and it shows in comparison between the NBA games.

2k Football would just be amazing........again.

Horrible celebration animation, on the fence about picking this up at Target with their B2G1 sale

Rainstorm814582d ago

Target has a Buy 2 get ONe sale for PS4 games???

iceman064582d ago

Rumor has it, with an actual screenshot of the ad, that Target will be doing a B2G1 on all games from Nov. 10th to the 16th!!! (small note that it said all games "in stock")

MASTER_RAIDEN4582d ago

not that sports games have ever been graphically demanding, but EA sports has just been dropping the ball. have you guys seen NBA Live? looks like a mid/lower level PS3 title.

jmc88884582d ago (Edited 4582d ago )

Sure they have, just not since EA Sports got the NFL licensing deal.

Sports games back in the day absolutely were some of the best looking games for the respective era.

There used to be regular big jumps between EACH VERSION.

HUGE JUMPS if you went from Genesis/Snes to Saturn to N64 to PC.

Every year the PC version kept getting better and better.

But something happened around 1999 or so that started slowing it all down. Since the exclusive license, they've been doing almost nothing.

This does at least seem like a decent jump, so it's a buy.

I believe the reason the graphics are stil subpar is because instead of using the PC as a constantly leading edge that they can pull from, instead they did away with the PC version and sat on their laurels for 7 years.

They weren't out there pushing boundaries, and now all of a sudden they have the big jump of power and don't know what to do with it.

But at least the previous Madden article focused on the animation and logic differences in the game, and that plus the mediocre at best graphics bump (from a pretty low level) is still enough for me to purchase the game.

But if it looks the same next year....

GhostPanther4582d ago

Is it me or am I the only one the sees the crowd as the only improvement.

Baka-akaB4582d ago

even there you've got like 5 different faces and character being clones infinitely in the crowd . Could have at least added color variation for clothes , skins etc

Starbucks_Fan4582d ago

This looks really nice. But I'm getting 2K14 instead.

Is Madden still a big deal? I remember how huge it was to have a console launch with a Madden title. Now it seems like no one cares

CrimsonWing69731d ago

I’m pretty sure Madden games sell like crazy at launch still.
