To say that Square Enix struggled through the seventh generation of consoles would be an understatement. Square Enix, which once found its salvation in the form of their Final Fantasy, has hit another roadblock, struggling to define itself and successfully capitalize on the successes of generation five and six. Rather, Square gave us Lightning.

Jason Dietz: "We reveal the past year's best and worst video game publishers (based on their 2025 releases) in the 16th edition of our annual Game Publisher Rankings."
But... but... the garbage-mongers always tell us that Square Enix is in trouble! 😂

Square Enix announced its financial results for the first nine months of the fiscal year, related to the period between April and December 2025.

3D Investment Partners, a major shareholder of Square Enix, issued a 112-page presentation criticizing the company's 'sluggish' revenue and profit margins.
Waaah waaah our profits aren't big enough! I mean, they're still growing and all, but we want it faster and NOW! Waaaah!
Not much of a fan of square enix/final fantasy franchise to be honest with you, but I can't help but feel that their struggle this gen was due to the fact that they decided to sell out and go multiplatform instead of stay loyal to the brand that boosted them to new heights to begin with (not mentioning names)
They fixed their shit coming to the nd hopefully they continue into the eight generation .
btw sleeping dogs, great game from square.
Square Enix once upon a time came out with my all time favorite games. FFXII was the last game in the franchise I enjoyed playing and ever since then I don't have that love I once had for SQE. XIII was too tedious with its boss battles, not to mention how linear the game itself was. Sort of indifferent towards FFXV but definitely looking forward to KHIII. What I keep telling myself is that they can't fail, this is KH it HAS to be a fantastic game. Fingers crossed.
That article literally said nothing just freaking ran around in a circle.
