EA has confirmed to IGN that Need for Speed Rivals has not been delayed and will be available for the launch of next-gen consoles as scheduled.
NFS Rivals is getting shut down, Speedhunters is over, and this might be the end for the Need For Speed franchise
Better not be. I platinumed Forza Horizon 5 on my PS5, and I like NFS games BETTER that Forza Horizon. It's too easy to get cars you'll never use in Forza. It never gives you that feeling of being chased or scared of the Police when you have a high rep score or whatever it is. NFS is better in my opinion, or at least more fun.

I don't not agree because it has been a while since I enjoyed a Need for Speed game.
The last outstanding release they had was Need for Speed Most Wanted 2005. That game made me feel like I was a character in the older fast and furious movies.
Forza Horizon not only has more than 10x the content, it is a different type of game that brings in something fresh. It is not perfect as I think drifting and the progression path sucks in Forza Horizon but every other game mode is on point.
Respectfully, NFS has about the depth of Mario kart when it comes to their racing games over the last decade or two
There's no way that will shelve the franchise but it does need to be redefined the franchise had many a reinvention over its three plus decade lifespan with high and lows and everything in between.
It's not dead but they do need time to redefine it

Best NFS in my personal opinion
Highstakes, Hotpursuit 2 and Underground, Mostwanted, The Run.
Rest of those titles are Junk,Crap, disappointing.

Most wanted 2012 imo was awful, on PS3 the graphics are dreadful, and the crash cam was very annoying. Rival is the worst imo, hated that game. My favourite is Hot Pursuit, great game. Also Shift 1&2 are really good.
High Stakes will always be my favorite. Great cars, great music, and you could see through the windows which was pretty mind-blowing at the time. Best of all it was ricer-free.
Lame. The list doesn't even include any of the originals. NFS 1 and NFS hot Pursuit 1998. Must be a youngster who created the list.
He clearly stated that being this was an Xbox centered site he was going to limit his list to games that released on some form of Xbox. He also stated he had been playing them since OG PLaystation, so pretty sure he's not a "youngster"
From my personal experience NFS I personally don't like.......
The Worst : Underground 2 , Carbon, Prostreets, Undercover, Porche unleashed, Nitro, NFS World, 2012 Mostwanted, Rivals, 2015 Reboot last but not least Paycrap.
Best NFS I personally like :
All ps1 NFS : HighStakes (the best) including NFS 3 Hotpursuit , ps2 Hotpursuit 2 (Excellent game ) ..Underground ( Best so far)
2005 Mostwanted ( Excellent game) Shift 1/2 (Spectacular) remind me of GT , 2010 Hotpursuit Great game but race Waaaaaaay to long in my personal opinion . Last but not least The Run . these are my favorite NFS titles .
After The Run in my personal opinion NFS went down hill fast with Open world mapping crap, always online, multiplayer crap, alldrive, drifting in every freaking corners, no gripping anymore,autolog. None of this crapfest is NFS original formula. until Ea contract Ghost Games to return the original formula back in NFS it will always be Shitty game.
Now that was a fast response. Since Drive Club got delayed I'm in fact interested in this game ...would be the first NFS I buy since Most Wanted on the PS2, lol
But I'm definately waiting for reviews and hopefully a demo.

Phew :) im gonna try this game but first i want to try it out first.
This comes from a guy whos not a racing cars games fan and i also wanna try out driveclub (yes im aware that is delayed) and "the crew" the crew is a game that im dying to try out.
It's gonna sell a lot on the PS4 since Driveclub is a no show. EA would be really stupid to delay it.
On Xbox One, though, Forza is where the racing crowd is.
