Strider NYCC Preview-TGH

TGH Writes: "This year at the New York Comic Con I was finally able to get my hands on Capcom's Strider. During my short hands-on session, I loved what I got to play. Developed by DoubleHelix Games, Strider is a side-scrolling platformer that really tests your skills - which essentially means that it's damn hard. Thankfully, Strider successfully brings back the classic gameplay that the original arcade and NES title had from the start. It's just as slick and fun as it always has been."

We're definitely long overdue for another Strider game.

lodossrage272d ago

The timing would have been perfect had a new Strider game came out now.

FACTUAL evidence271d ago

Heyyy, strider was always my guy. My avi been that guy since I was a member in this site lol.

The only real ninja missing from today's gaming landscape is Rikimaru

Redgrave272d ago

The Tenchu crew must sneak again, Onikage's plans must again be foiled

lodossrage272d ago

Does Activision still have publishing rights to that?

telgou272d ago (Edited 272d ago )

You know who should get a remaster ( graphical recreation not remake, the gameplay is perfect) ? Goh the crow from Shinobido.
Shinobido is the metal gear solid of ninja games...

Some of us gamers still enjoy 2D games. The likes of UN Squadron, Legend of the Mystical Ninja, Final Fight, Strider are all due sequels in 2D. Most of these games would probably run off the same engine. Go back to the 8 bit and 16 bit days and you could pull out a ton of 2D games due a sequel.

lodossrage271d ago

well UN Squadron would probably be the least likely to get a sequel since that's actually based on the old anime Area 88. The name was just changed to UN Squadron when it came west.

But then again, I could be wrong. Cobra is getting a new game

I will be there, will be my third time going to nycc.

Already reserved the deluxe edition of the game, just waiting for it to be downloadable then unlocked.

Huey_My_D_Long959d ago

I like this game...but....ngl seeing alot news about costumes for promotional work is not exciting.

neomahi958d ago

....... How is it exclusive when the game is only on PS5? That's a rather liberal use of the word and really takes away from what it represents. Exclusive is just a word now, it used to actually mean something. Once timed-exclusive came about, it lost its pop

BlaqMagiq1958d ago

I think they mean as in never before seen anywhere Spider-Man related and will debut in the game.

CobraKai958d ago

Could be this. It’s the only explanation. Or the reveal itself is a Con exclusive?

Was there a comic-con suit in the last game? I could be wrong, but it was a cel-shaded (at least I think that’s the one) and it was one of my favorite suits to use.

I welcome all these suits! Hope there’s even more! I enjoyed switching out suits throughout the last game.
