Right now, Nintendo needs a few big titles that can not be found on any other platforms that are not Nintendo games. It can't be a new IP either unfortunately, fund Street Fighter 5 for Capcom, Off story arc Resident Evil exclusive, an old school take on Final Fantasy like 2.5d hand drawn open world. Titles that are big that no other company can get to.But I digress, knowing Nintendo of today, that's not going to happen. One can dream though.

I hope not but i'll understand if they do. Some people here really need to get over the whole Rayman fiasco and missing features in game. ;)

I'd say wait for Smash Bros and a new Zelda and then Nintendo will most likely be fine with the Wii U. I wish this wasn't the case as I'd like Nintendo to be successful with new franchises but I like the console so I hope they do well.

stop making half baked ports and then sales will pick up.. take advantage of the hardware extra horse power... I am sorry but if Splinter Cell and Assassins Creed 3 are anything to go by then it is not Nintendo causing the issue of sales it is Ubisoft. After seeing Bayonetta 2 and Xenoblade 2 in action it is clear the system is not current gen but rather next gen and Ubisoft has been far to lazy in exploiting the hardware. Both Splinter Cell and Assassins Creed 3 were lazy ports at best.

It would be nice if Ubisoft actually list the Wii U version on their posters and marketing (Splinter Cell). Or stop delaying titles, selling ports at higher prices than the X360/PS3 versions, and lying about games being exclusive to the Wii U. Unlike EA efforts, UBISOFT is barely trying to deliver quality software in a reasonable time frame at an reasonably price. To be fair to UBISOFT, going all out in terms of marketing and taking advantage of the Wii U capabilities probably only would result in 15/25% sales increase.

Ubisoft won't be dropping support in a while. However, maybe Nintendo should do what they did with platinum and get some exclusives on their system, like AC:L on PSV and Zombiu.

Wii U owners bought over 500k copies of Zombi U, even though it's garbage. And Wii U owners bought more copies of Rayman Legends than 360 or PS3 owners, even though Ubisoft screwed us with the delay. They're pissed because their gimped ports aren't selling well? I own a Wii U, PS3, and soon to own a PS4. I bought Splinter Cell, AC III, Zombie U, and Rayman Legends on Wii U, but I won't be buying Watch Dogs or AC VI on Wii U, because I'd rather get the better versions elsewhere.

Well they have Watch Dogs and that UbiArt RPG coming to Wii U in 2014 so,....

Not to mention the fact that they'll at least put Just Dance on it every year and Nintendo has shipped two Ubisoft games with the system already.

But I think Nintendo could play the game of being the second option after PS4 or XB1.

I honestly think that the majority of people who have only the WiiU (no PS3, no X360, no XB1, no PS4) don't want a Splinter Cell game or other M-rated games.

if they were willing to struggle through with the wii u when things wre rough i highly doubt they'd bail when things are finally looking up for the console.

Rayman Origins, Rayman Legends...Same f^cking game with minor changes Ubisoft...I already bought the damn game for PS3, so as if I'm interested in re-buying it for my Wii-U...I ain't gonna get suckered just to keep them developing for Wii-U. All 3rd party developers almost are doing the exact same thing, & just re-doing games that have done months, if not years ago on PS3/360...Just look at the list of games, even Zelda is 2 f^cking gens old with HD graphics, I mean, at least all the HD remakes on PS3/360 were only a gen old... Pisses me off that I bothered wasting my money on a Wii-U...Good part is, I get my PS4 in a month. Dues Ex is another waste they have re-released 2-3 yrs too late for Wii-U???? Make a f^cking new, original game for christ sakes...I'm not buying what I already own for a couple of changes & additions.

if Ubisoft do not make games for Nintendo they will go bankrupt plain and simple, they do not have any games that sell like call of duty so their profits will never get high for any game they sell......in the last gen Just dance would sell like 6 to 7 million on the Wii only and since these games were cheap to make they made a ton of profit on it so for them to stop helping nintendo they would lose profits they would make by making games for nintendo like just dance which they use the money to make big games for ps3/ps4/360/xbone.....if I was Nintendo and they stop make games I would tell them do not bring any of their other games like just dance or what ever that is made cheap to bring big profits, by doing this, they will depend on AAA and if those AAA do not sell millions they will go bankrupt.....

It's a weird dichotomy here. I can understand where Ubisoft is coming from because naturally they want their games to sell, however most of their previous releases were gimped ports of a 360/PS3 game missing features, so I can see why the games didn't sell.

Ubisoft gambled by delaying the Wii U version of Rayman so they could make it multiplatform, and it ends up still selling the best on the Wii U. And I am sure there were some people who would have bought it on Wii U but since it went multiplatform, ended up buying it on 360 or PS3 so they could play with their friends. That hurt some Wii U sales for sure, not to mention some console sales for the die hard Rayman fans who would have bought the console.

As for AC4 and Watch Dogs, Ubisoft has confirmed that they will be better than current gen, a sort of in-between the XB1/PS4 versions and the previous gen versions, so Wii U owners will at least have a better product than the 360/PS3 crowd, which could help sales.

This holiday I think is a real important time for Nintendo. They need to move some real hardware numbers, so that developers can see that making games on the Wii U is a worthwhile investment. While I hate companies like EA, not having titles like Madden, FIFA, Battlefield and Need for Speed definitely hurts.

Ubisoft even stated earlier that it costs approximately 1 million dollars to port a game over from another console. To break that down in sales, that's about 75,000 games sold to make their money back (using a $50 price tag and assuming that the devs make about 33%). Since very few Ubisoft games are built for the ground up for the Wii U, they are just ports, those types of sales figures are easily attainable.

Ubi has supported the Wii U more than Nintendo has- W out Ubi we would have had even fewer games in since launch- by a large %

I have never heard so many excuses for poor sales as I do so many vocal Nintendo fans- its blame everyone but Nintendo (who is by far the most responsible for the sorry sales and weak library to date)

3rd parties don t support the Wii U because they either will lose money or have lost money- I very much appreciate any (non shovelware) 3rd party support we (wii u owners) can get. Other than Ubi it has been thin at best to date- If we lose them then our 3rd party support will be as close to zero as can get-

Maybe if Ubisoft would make the Wii U version of their games equal to the other versions, there wouldn't be as much of a problem. I don't buy Many 3rd party anymore because I'm sick of these 3rd party companies being nice to Sony but butchering the Nintendo versions of the games. Or not offering the same things such as DLC. It's been done so much that I'm just tired of it. Ubisoft can take their words and shove it up their asses because frankly I don't care anymore. The only game I feel brought any justice to the Wii U was Rayman legends anyway, but they even managed to fuck that up too.

Ubisoft will never ditch Nintendo, They will just not release their FPS Games that don't sell, And go with titles like Rayman and Shovelware.

Ok i suck at math but i read somewhere that splinter cell sold 20k on wiiu current and 300k a piece on 360 and ps3. Now those machines are at like 85 million units each, give or take a couple of million, yet the wiiu is at like 4 million max right??

Well since no one wanted to figure it out. I went ahead and did it myself. TURNS OUT, if these numbers hold then the WIIU VERSION ACTUALLY HAS THE BETTER ATTACH RATE PER CONSOLE.
85 million 360's or ps3's divided by 300k (ppl who bought the game per console )= 283
4 million WIIU's divided by 20k (ppl who bought the game) = 200
IN CASE people are still confused thats 1 out of 200 people buy it on WIIU compared to 1 out of every 283 people who buy it on the other consoles. So THE WIIU VERSION IS AGAIN, IF THESE NUMBERS HOLD, SELLING AT A BETTER ATTACH RATE PER CONSOLE

When ur console only sold 4 mill u can't expect 3rd party games to sell is that simple the only games that sold well on the Wii U is Mario bros and Nintendo Land, if I was Ubi I just hold out til the Wii U sell more boxes.
