Things happen sometimes, im not mad or anything, just glad were still getting the beta a couple days before GTA4 is released (hopefully), i wont be getting GTA4 until a couple days after, because of shipping anyways. so ill have enough time to enjoy it, ill probaly take breaks from gta4 anyways.

So Konami solution to solve this over logging problem is to release the beta near GTA4 arrival. Hey, it will work.

are konami not smart enough to know, how many american pre orders there were, how many japanese got beta codes and how many europeans downloaded it on top of that the fact their ID site took an absolute ass raping, that their servers where going to come under heavy fire.

japanese devs like konami (and sony) need to open thier eyes to online gaming and what western people expect.

It sucks... we can all agree on this, but come on!! Just consider this hitch a step in the beta process. Once the servers are up we will be able to play the game. If they didnt do this 2months early, imagine the rage from customers on June 12th.

This might seem like the end of the world to all the people (like me) who were entering out id and pw all damn night... but this is a GOOD thing for the actual release... either way, I will see you guys online the 25th (hopefully)

we had to wait this long and now four more days... they should have the MGO beta open all the way up until a week before June 12

I have four days to play this straight if everything goes as planned. Once GTAIV comes out I will probably play a little, or just stop altogether. Honestly MGS4 is my most anticipated title of the year, but the beta can't match up a full game that is GTAIV; in which I will pay for.

although if they do manage this date, they will have done a fairly good job because thats quick

Okay. Stress test conducted. UNSAT. Delay the beta four days and resume in NA and EU. This would be all fine and dandy except for the fact that a lot of people will probably forget this beta exists after the 29th, myself included.

It was in Konami's best interest to squeak this in before GTA4 and have time to fix issues without being rushed. Now not only will they get far less feedback, they'll get far less traffic and less time to fix the issues before the release in mid-June.

We should all hope that this doesn't effect the end-product.

I'm really not that bothered by all this (then again, this isn't my first beta) I'm a huge MGS fan and although I've been looking forward to today for as long as I've known about the beta I'm not massively disappointed, in fact being such a fan I'm pleased to see that the game is so popular.

The original MGO was great on PS2 and I still think this is going to blow the older game away. Konami realise they underestimated the demand and so are probably working around the clock to get this resolved. If anything I feel sorry for the employees of the company due to crappy management they now have to clean up the mess.

Betas have problems (not usually on such a huge scale) but that's what they're there for, to locate problems before the full title goes live. Konami didn't have to "attempt" to let you play. Just be glad they're realising this mess before the full title goes live.

At least it still releases this week. Hopefully everything is taken care of by then.

It may have been said before, but Konami completely fvcked this up. Yes, I understand it's a beta and problems like these are to be expected. If that were the issue, then it would not be such a big deal. The issue is that Konami has been doing everything wrong as far as the beta is concerned. Using the completely useless (except for market research) Konami/Game ID, only to name yor character in-game, instead of using PSN is ridiculous. There is no reason we shouldn't be using PSN IDs in the beta, I bet everyone will just be using their PSN ID anyway.

The only "good" thing that came out of the Konami ID clusterfvck is that Konami now knows their servers are inadequate to the task of running this game. The bad thing is that Konami didn't get a big fvcking clue when the site you have to register with to play the beta is imploding on an hourly basis and they had to add servers to that, they couldn't figure out that there might be an enormous demand for the beta? That is time lost that they could be using to get feedback on the actual game, because we all know their online infrastucture is sh!t. Now GTA 4 is going to be pulling away a significant p[ortion of their beta pool. Konami really needs to pull its head out of it's ass.

They F'ed up so bad I'd expect nothing less then further delays. This is why you restrict the amount of codes given out. Giving out codes to any Joe Blow on your site is a great way to show thanks to those who actually went out, and pre ordered your game first. Then segregation finally comes in the form of giving Japan priority most likely because they know the Japanese wouldn't stand for this kind of sh*t.

i'm an OG gamer, played metal gear when it came out on the NES, and every one since, and come june 12th no other disk will touch the warm spinny insides of my ps3 till mgs4 is done.

I hope he ordered thousands of more servers, and that hes using UPS for them :)

I don't think I'll get the beta, and when MGS4 comes out proper I'm probably NOT going to play the online mode. I don't want to have to sign up for _yet another_ thing. Konami IDs and all that bullsh*t. It's the reason I could never be @rsed to play crysis online.

Also, is the Konami ID and stuff linked to your PSN, or do you need to create a seperate friends list, etc? I _can't_ see why they would choose to use their own sign-on system when the PSN is just there for them to use. An utter shambles.

well they are relaunching the beta on april 25th, well thats only a few days before GTA4 releases at midnight. I think they shot themselves in the foot for the beta.

Im hoping im speaking for most if not all the people here that owns a ps3, but this beta for me was supposed to be the week long ride home to gta4. It still is going to be the weekend ride home tho so no worries....

atleast now theres no problem registering a konami id. They've changed the process. Took me under 5 minutes from starting to register to getting my confirmation email. As opposed to constantly getting "page deleted" or "timed out".

Any fans of MGO2 and with a gaming PC should check this out. The community is growing with 30-40+ players per night. Its really easy to install too.

This must be a devastating blow, since we know from the "install base" logic that these earlier gen versions must have been the far more popular versions of the game, since there were far more of these consoles in people's homes than PS4s or XONEs when this game launched in 2015.

you guys are complaining when it literally says "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be terminated on May 31st of 2022. This only affects the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions" if you still are stuck on ps3 and 360 thats your fault
