
Ever since the release of Final Fantasy XI, things just haven’t been the same for this king title of JRPGs. While the games certainly still sell, reception and legacy of the games have suffered. What happened that caused this king of games to fall from grace?

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

Great read. I also love XIII and XIII-2, but yeah, you make great points. Still, while these games especially stray from the traditional format that made the series popular, they have their strengths. Under any other name, I bet they wouldn’t get nearly as much flak as they do. From what I got play myself and the flurry of information out already, Lightning Returns: FFXIII is likely going to be tons better than these two, and anyone who won’t give it a second glance just because of the XIII in the title is doing themselves a great disservice.

Next gen is a chance to get things right with ff. This gen was a disaster. All they need is to work harder and go back to their roots. Hope they will,ff is a legendary series
eh XIII series I enjoy it. I cant stand XII's battle system tho.
Enjoying XIV and type 0 is VERY good.
