The Illusive Man says:"This may not be the best game in the world, but it emerged as one of my personal favorites. If a game’s creators tell a story they’re passionate about, and their passion’s reflected throughout the entire game, I can forgive shortcomings like simple gameplay and a brief campaign. And what the creators managed to do here is create fairy tale-esque story all while using rain as the main narrative device.
Rain, by SCE Japan Studio (The Last Guardian… maybe, possibly), is a downloadable 3D puzzle-platformer that’s exclusive to the PS3. It doesn’t take long to beat, and you’ll be wishing it was longer – if only because the story is so good. It begins with a boy who’s trip to the circus is postponed due to a fever. He looks out his window and sees the outline of a small girl being chased by the outline of an even bigger monster. What he witnesses draws him into a hidden world of endless rain and dangerous creatures. The intro is illustrated using adolescent hand-drawn stills that immediately give the game a storybook feeling. But because it’s purposely done in this style, it’s more refined than something a child would do."

From Xfire: "Just in case you missed it, Sony recently confirmed the rumors that they'd be shutting down the digital storefronts for their older consoles. In particular, the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation Vita.
With the news now official, it might be a good idea to get your hands on the best exclusive PS3 games. Otherwise, obtaining these titles might become more difficult once the store closes later in July 2021."

Yonashi shows a surprising amount of depth within a minimal design here; the artwork, clue presentation and other extra touches make Rain unique enough to please, earning an unreserved recommendation.

GameDynamo - "Rain proves you don't need complicated mechanics to craft a compelling game.
As the nameless protagonist, you take on the role of a young boy, who sees a ghostly image of a girl from his bedroom window. She's being pursued through the streets by monstrous creatures. "
