How to Survive dev explains why Wii U version lacks online multiplayer

A couple of months ago, 505 Games provided confirmation that How to Survive is heading to Wii U. The revelation was accompanied by a bit of disappointing news, however. Unlike other multiplatform versions of How to Survive, the Wii U version won’t include online play.

because there's no real online network?

Venoxn4g4527d ago

maybe because they are lazy? its 505, look what they have done with Sniper Elite Wii U.. why some other devs (even indie) can get online on Wii U or online leaderboards? (if I am not mistaken Trine 2 got online multiplayer)

Did he really answer the question ?!

love the games from wii u but the online lack fun. hope wii u online get better in the near future

This is why people are saying the Wii U is a failure. Their online is still horrible, and 3rd-party devs don't support. If the other versions have online, why not just delay this game until you get online functionaries working?

But then again, one commentor on the site said people barely play Splinter Cell Blacklist online on the Wii U... Which is caused by the Wii U's lacking online services... And the process goes on a never-ending cycle.

I think Ubi released patch for Splinter Cell Wii u to fix online isnt it?

ZeekQuattro4527d ago

No they released a patch to fix everything but online for the Wii U about a month ago. Online is still broken & most people understandably moved on to other games.

Concertoine4527d ago

There are plenty of games with great online though! Need for speed u, cod, trine 2 ALL work just as well as the other systems, those devs just put the time in whereas these guys of consistently NOT.

Chrischi19884527d ago

SInce there are other good working online titles, I dont see, where it is nintendos fault, if the devs dont make the full game.

Then it doesnt sell, then they say we dont make enough money on Wii U and then they say they wont support wii u anymore.

But where did it start? I mean, if there is money to make the game on Wii U, then they should make the whole game, so it actually adds to the wii u experience, but anyone who knows it lacks features, wont get it for that platform.

Just as long as it's cheaper then it's fine.

it is a shame but having played it i can safely say that the game's probably best played in single player anyway.
