This Chinese Actor Should Be Phoenix Wright, Says Chinese Internet

Former Asian teen heartthrob and current all around action movie super star Aaron Kwok has made big waves again on the Chinese blogosphere. This time, the waves have nothing to do with how good or how bad any of his movies are, but instead, about what he looks like in one of his movies.

Kwok, a Hong Kong singer, actor and amateur race car driver, has been a staple of the Chinese entertainment scene since his debut in the eighties. Mostly known for being in Hong Kong Action movies, Kwok's most recent work has drawn the attention of Chinese video game fans.

Aaron Kwok? That can't be his real name. And no, he shouldn't be Phoenix in an Ace Attorney movie. There shouldn't be an AA movie at all. It just wouldn't work.

Pozzle4626d ago

An Ace Attorney movie already exists.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

It was decent. Not amazing, but pretty enjoyable to watch. :)

cyhm31124626d ago

Why can't that be his real name?

specialguest4626d ago (Edited 4626d ago )

@kenshin

It's not uncommon for Hong Kong Chinese to have real English first names. I'm not sure what the exact reasons are, but it could be because Hong Kong was a former British colonial until 1997.

nugnugs4626d ago

I think that is the reason. Always amused me that they picked names that were a little 'fogeyish' over here. Gordon Chan, Tony Leung, Edison Chen was a weird one, but my favourites were Danny and Oxide Pang!

Nada Nuff4626d ago

This implies that there should be some sort of live-action Phoenix Wright project. There shouldn't.

nugnugs4626d ago

There already is! Saw the trailer about a year ago.

Capcom says it wants Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney to be 'core IPs' like Monster Hunter

Sorry if you were expecting Bionic Commando.

ZeekQuattro171d ago

Actions speak louder than words. Show me a new Mega Man game that isn't a collection of games I played yesteryear. If they can churn out some kind of RE game every other year they can make a new Mega Man entry. It's not like it's known for its deep stories.

Christopher171d ago

I can see DMC, but the others just weren't built for that without some major adjustments on how they're played.

lukasmain171d ago (Edited 171d ago )

If they make the right choices and right kinds of games, the Mega-Man IP could potentially be made into an animated film or streaming series like the success of Mario and Sonic. Surely that thought may have crossed their minds? Or am I being silly? I mean there is a lot more water to go under the bridge for them to even start considering that. But I used to be a big mega-man fan back in the day. I'd love to see it happen.

It’s being done on purpose just to destroy inafune . It’s some pride stuff on the inside .

blacktiger171d ago

all talk and if they launch it will cost $200

shinXseijuro170d ago

Just like the guys said . I’ll believe it when I see it . Even the shareholders are asking questions regarding Megaman . I don’t want to sound ludacris but I have a strong conviction that the heads at Capcom are purposely holding the Megaman IP down because of their grudge and spite towards inafune on some deeper Japanese honour code stuff . It’s deeper than we think . You can tell something isn’t right .

VersusDMC170d ago

Well i hope DMC is being worked on. Either a remake of 1 or 6 will do.

And bring back Megaman X. Either regular, command mission or make it a Metroidvania since silksong is so popular.

I tried Hatoful Boyfriend. Lasted around 2 minutes. Worst game I’ve ever played.

Knightofelemia1473d ago (Edited 1473d ago )
