FIFA 14 vs. Pro Evolution Soccer 14: Which game is better?

EA Sports has released FIFA 14 and with it, many soccer fans will say goodbye to their free time. Yet Konami is also looking to take the path back to their successful past with Pro Evolution Soccer 14, and have used Metal Gear Solid 5′s Fox Engine to do so.

So simple question ! PES2014 undoubtedly ~

pedrof934609d ago

Indeed.

Too bad there isn't a Ps4 version.

I have to say I disagree with you. FIFA 14 plays more like old skool (good) PES than ever & PES hasn't had any positive change this year & no next-gen version is poor decision.

I agree...FIFA 14 plays more like older versions of PES, even close to last years version. (which, imo, has been the best one since the PS2 era). However, I will disagree with the notion that PES hasn't had ANY positive change this year. The physics engine, along with M.A.S.S. and true ball tech, are exciting for the future of PES. It's not perfect, much like the Ignite Engine of FIFA. It really boils down to style of play. Do you want a fever pitch, up and down style of play. Or, do you want a slower and more methodical style of play. I personally enjoy BOTH games. However, I feel like PES nails the actual pace of the real game.
As for no next gen version, that would be a shot in the dark for PES. Knowing that they get beat by FIFA every year, why risk sending this new engine to die and spend larger amounts of money for next gen versions? They played it safe to be around for a version that they could build on the new systems, instead of porting.

I'm. Only looking at next Gen. So only one is getting my attention.

Pro seriously? With unlicensed teams? That fact alone makes me go with fifa..

Baka-akaB4609d ago (Edited 4609d ago )

Licences are an argument old as f**k , i'd rather have the better gameplay and then be able to patch the team , as usual .
PES 14 despites its numerous flaws is the better football game of the two for me this year . But fifa on next gen , and finally improving a bit , made sure i bought both with the ps4 in mind

Ninjamonkey824609d ago

Your a lost cause ;). Pes ain't about the licensing its about the gameplay. EA unfairly dominates the market for Licensees fo other company's have to make due with what they have. Pes shines where it needs o shine.

Pintheshadows4608d ago

Og give it a break. It hasn't shined since PES5 and this years is no different. It is leagues below what FIFA now is and people who like it are consistently living in the past.

oscar4874601d ago

You can download patches to fix that; PESEdit or SMoKE patch. I have never played PES without the actual kits.

Not all outdated football games are worthless

Games Asylum: "Outdated football games are a common sight when scouring jumble sales, car boots and charity shops for bargain price video games. Entire shelves filled with decade-old FIFA and PES games spread across a dozen formats. Often they end up in bargain bins, sitting alongside unwanted celebrity fitness DVDs and seemingly random TV show box sets. But here’s the thing. Not all football games gathering dust in the likes of Oxfam are in fact worthless."
