Alan Wake was supposed to be horror? It sure as heck didn't seem that way to me. It wasn't scary, it was much more action oriented than scary.

ATi_Elite4626d ago

Alan Wake 2 on the XB1 and PC should be EXCELLENT!

blakstarz4626d ago

But it's not happening, at least not now...

http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...

They should of released this on the PS3 as well...would of gathered them more sales....oh well, you live and learn. Hopefully they learned from this and not making this game exclusive.

coolbeans4626d ago (Edited 4626d ago )

That's basically addressed right at the beginning.

Edit: In response to those below at well.

starchild4626d ago

Oh, it was definitely a little scary. A lot of horror games aren't really that scary if you want to get real nitpicky.

Alan Wake isn't nearly as scary as something like Outlast, for example, but it still had many horror elements.

In any case, it was simply a damn good GAME. And that is what matters.

The treks through the dark woods with the screen distortions and the voices and the taken with giant axes chasing you as you frantically try to turn on the generator were pretty nerve-wracking on high difficulty settings

alan wake is not horror it's a psychological thriller.

MadLad4626d ago (Edited 4626d ago )

Pretty much.
It really wasn't a scary game. I certainly didn't think so, anyway.

ThatEnglishDude4627d ago

It's a psychological thriller, not horror. It even says so on the front cover.

Drewminati4626d ago

I don't know what you guys were talking about.. it was scary..

ElementX4626d ago

I played through Alan Wake on PC about 4 months ago and by the time I was halfway through I just wanted it to be over. The gameplay was so repetitive, turning on generators to run lights and collecting batteries got to be such a chore that the game lost all appeal to me.

A Late Look: Alan Wake

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "All in all, it’s not hard to see why Alan Wake has received a bit of a cult following (there’s that famous foreshadowing again). It’s a title that blends themes and gameplay, while pushing the limits of storytelling by putting stories within stories and letting you read those stories before you get to that part in… the story. It has flaws, to be sure - the gameplay side can’t quite keep up with the rest of its ambitions - but overall it’s a great game that stands out among its peers and is undeniably… one for the books."

Kind of a goody story...

On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.

gigoran8771d ago

wait, that place is real? national lampoon wasn't kidding?

jznrpg183d ago

People sometimes call Wal-Mart Wally World including myself

Tacoboto770d ago

I just bought two of the MonsterVerse Godzilla movies on 4K - both had digital copies expiring in 2023. Both were actually expired.

I'd be surprised but it's WB, of course they'd actually expire them

Knightofelemia771d ago

Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.

Chocoburger771d ago

Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.

Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.

Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄

Rynxie771d ago

Most likely she wanted to resell a few or most of them. However, it was a too good to be true situation.

Profchaos771d ago

So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.

I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.

Rynxie771d ago

No, most likely to resell. However, she ended up getting screwed.

Asplundh771d ago

This is Alan Wake 1, it had physical copies.
