Rejoice fellow PC gamers, for the release of the side-scrolling science-fiction action platformer Flashback is all set to arrive on the PC next month; Vector Cell’s remake of the 1992 classic arcade title can be pre-purchased via Steam ahead of its release on 1 October for $9.99.

GOG is giving away Flashback as part of their Summer Sale. All you have to do to add Flashback to your collection is go to the GOG website or the game’s page.

Andrew M writes: "Almost three decades after the release of the original, Microids has announced that Flashback 2 will launch for console and PC in 2022."
I have zero faith in the execution after how bad that remake was.
Doesnt need a sequel.

An award-winning action-adventure game, developed by Paul Cuisset in 1992, Flashback holds a Guinness record and is one of the first games to use rotoscope technology for realistic animations. In it, you travel the universe in the year 2142 with amnesia stricken protagonist Conrad while he dives headlong into an insidious alien plot. This game will no doubt prove a time capsule of memories for some and nothing can ruin that. However, for those of you who have never played the original, Flashback Mobile offers a somewhat different experience.
This game was cutting edge on debut. I want to think I may have had this on 3DO, can’t remember. Maybe SegaCD.
Finally..I have been waiting for this for quite some time. $10 aint too much, so gonna try this out even though metacritic hasnt been so kind to the game.
