"Uncharted is Sony's star first-party franchise on PlayStation 3. It's risen to prominence in Naughty Dog's spectacular library of games, all three series games are undoubtedly PS3 killer apps, and each release has proved to be narrative game-changers for the industry. However, despite Uncharted only recently entering the limelight, I posit that the series needs a break. It's the only thing fitting for Uncharted's continued relevance."
Former Naughty Dog artist Gabriel Betancourt explains why the "sweet spot" for game teams is under 200 people and how AAA "factories" kill creativity.
There’s definitely some truth to this. When teams get too large, coordination starts to outweigh creativity—layers of approval, risk aversion, and tight deadlines can turn bold ideas into “safe” ones. Keeping a team under ~200 people sounds ideal for maintaining clear communication and a shared vision. That said, massive AAA projects also come with huge technical demands and expectations, so scaling up isn’t always avoidable. The real challenge is figuring out how to keep that small-team creativity alive inside big studio structures.

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) is proud to announce that Evan Wells, former Co-President of Naughty Dog and one of the most respected studio leaders in modern game development, will be honored with a prestigious Hall of Fame Award. Wells’ induction will take place at the 29th annual D.I.C.E. Awards on February 12, 2026, at the Aria Resort in Las Vegas. Neil Druckmann, a longtime collaborator from Naughty Dog, will present Wells with his Hall of Fame Award live at the ceremony.
Neil Druckmann, the creative director of The Last of Us, is working on a new, unannounced game at Naughty Dog.
Wait I thought they cancelled a game? Or did they announce another project?

We need UC4...this article did absolutely nothing to sway that sentiment.
Yes We Do!!!
Yeah we do
Hopefully it will centered around Nathan and Elenas relationship this time like how Uncharted 3 gave us a look into Sully's and Nates relationship. I know they havent been together long but theres still a few gaps they could show us as flashbacks like what happened after Drakes Fortune? What happened Among Thieves? How did Nate propose to Elena? What was the wedding like? How does Elena know Cutter? Have they been on smaller adventures? etc
I would like to see Elena at the start of the game go off with Drake on her own terms to mix things up. For the past two games she seems to come into it half way and gets roped into it. I'd rather her set off with Drake together, it would be kind of nice to see a husband and wife in a video game going on an adventure together they would be the Rick and Evie of Video Games.
Anyway I hope we get a story centred around a lost treasure worth something rather then another lost city. I would love to see a heist mission where Drake and Elena have to steal something from a millionaire or something, in an urban backdrop where they on in a modern skyscraper for example.
Hopefully they will go back to basics with the multiplayer like in Uncharted 2 and the main mode for the game will be like Uncharted 2's except they will kept the sprinting and character customization, not forgetting the better "fair" layouts of the maps...long as they make gun spawns random things should be alright if they start you off with a pistol and a crappy AK. All that stuff they put in Uncharted 3 like loadouts and upgradable perks should be used in another mode like a Lab or a Hardcore/strategy playlist.
we need uncharted 4 immediatly.
Also stop eating other peoples lunches
Exqueeze Me!!! Are you nuts.
I need it in and around my mouth.
